Pretty nice cooler seems kind of heavy though I added two ice packs and it stayed kind of cold enough. I guess throughout some of the day. It works for now

Good design very durable but need something bigger

My husband needed a new cooler that would help actually keep things cold while staying in his hot work truck. This cooler is a nice size for his needs. I really like the fact that it comes with a basket to keep the food separate and not get crushed or wet. I pack his lunch and put his sandwich and fruit or pretzels/chips in the basket, while I put his drinks in the bottom cooler section. The included ice pack is a nice thought, but does not work. It is way too thin to do much. I purchased two larger, thick ice packs for the main cooler section and it seems to keep things a lot cooler longer. It's a nice quality and seems to hold up well.

The detachable, built-in ice pack is woefully undersized. There's no way that this thin ice pack would keep food or drinks cold for the claimed 6-8 hours if this cooler was outside on a summer day. I have to add additional reusable ice packs to keep things cold, which reduces usable volume and essentially defeats the main reason I chose this cooler.The upper compartment is very "meh." The description states that it's a dry storage compartment, but only dry in that it's not meant for ice etc. It doesn't have any kind of seal on it to keep, for example, a wallet, some cash, or anything else dry if you were to take this on a river float and tie it you your tube, or take it on a boat. That upper compartment is also too difficult to open - the latch is very stiff and you need two hands. And no, I'm not a frail old person, I'm a fairly stout guy.I'll give 2 stars still, because the build quality is what you'd expect from this brand. It just has a few design issues they need to sort out. The problem is that those issues are the specific features that people want when choosing this cooler. There are many other options out there.

Love this cooler! I have to hide it from my kids because they love taking it to the pool. Living in TX, it doesn’t take much for things to get too hot. This cooler has no problem keeping the ice from melting and keeping the food cold.

I had very high hopes for this cooler. I have many pelican products, store all my fishing tacle and camping gear in different pelican boxes. My coworker had the gray cooler and raved about it. Finally bought the cooler. First cooler I got there was small gap at the front coolers which you could feel the cool coming out of ever so slightly. Found out quickly the slim pack it came with wasn't cutting it, so put in a bigger ice pack along with it. I stored my lunch box in a break room with AC, and by the time I punch out 4 hours later my food was warm. Got a second one sent, came with no ice pack, so before returned the first one I grabbed and tested new one. Same thing, the front corners are slightly lifted so I requested a refund. Again co worker has no problem. Not sure it it was a bad batch or not, but kinda sad it ain't that great.
