Will not use any other telescopic rod
If you pair this with a good reel, and know how to take care of rods and set drags, this rod is great. The fiberglass tip is durable and the guides are smooth. I have no problems casting far with this rod even with very light baits. If you use a cheap reel, I'd be careful, as I do NOT think that the rod can handle 17 pounds as described on the description. I used my rod for 3 years before it finally broke and only because I was trying to reel in a 24' yellowtail away from a shark. I was using 17 pound test (braid+fluoro, my fault, this setup has no elasticity). If you don't need to be this aggressive against a fish, it has served me well bringing in Bonita tuna, Peacock bass, yellowtail (salt) and Largemouth. Patience is key when using this type of rod. When my next one breaks, I'll happily buy another one at this price.

I'm buying a second one of these Bad Boys!!!
I purchased the Quantum Embark Telescopic Fishing Rod, Convenient 6'6" Durable IM6 Graphite Blank with Solid Glass Tip, Comfortable Split-Grip EVA Rod Handle, Black last year in August and have caught Crappie much bigger than the one pictured and this Crappie some weighing close to and over 2lbs as well as Peacock Bass and Catfish weighing in at 8lbs! The sensitivity is INCREDIBLE with 10lb BRAIDED LINE! Yeah, the guides bend a little, but NO WORRIES just bend them back into your desired shape and/or position. I paired the rod with a Quantum Optix X 30 and I am MORE than IMPRESSED. As mentioned before at the end of this review I'm buying a second one of these Bad Boys!!!

Nice rods for different situations
Have owned 3 casting rods for two fishing seasons now. Broke one top eye in a non fishing incident but glued on a new and still going. I use these mostly for fishing off my bike along a canal. Easy to store in the seat pocket of my truck so always have rods with me yet not laying on floor or back seat to get beat up. Also will put two or three rods in a backpack and take my motorcycle for a day cruise on the backroads. Have one really good pond but have to carry my kayak in about 1/4 mile and these are easier to carry in rather than a few 7 foot poles. These wont replace your rods but rather have in addition too!

So far so good
Initial impressions are great. For the money it's hard to beat this rod. Decent grade graphite with a solid fiberglass tip section, exposed blank reel seat, light, has a great feel/action (honestly feels like a 2 or 1 pc). Feels closer to a fast action then moderate fast,, but thats just whipping it around in the living room.. Paired it with a Mitchell 308 which according to the manufacturer is a 2000 size reel but is closer to my 2500s and it feels veryyy well balanced. Honestly haven't used it yet but I can't wait to.. I gave it 4 stars cus the 1st one I received, the fiberglass tip was extruded kinda wonky and wasn't straight or smooth(thank God for prime lol) replacement was perfect so check it on yours and make sure its good. Can't expect perfect quality control on a 30$ rod so I won't totally fault quantum especially when they would have replaced it themselves and they offer a very reasonable warranty on it.. def wayyyyy better than any other telescopic rod in its price range I guarantee that. Otherwise you'd honestly have to spend 75-125 to get something just slightly better

Mine came with bent guides
The guides on mine were bent out of shape and the bottom section cracked. I knew it was gonna be bad when I notice one of the zip ties was already broken or cut. I was like is this even brand new. Was it a return and I get someone's messed up return. I haven't even used it once and I'm already disappointed with it.

More durable but cheaper than the kastking
First, don't buy the KastKing, you'll be replacing the tip. But for this Quantum rod the tip is very good and has that ugly stick type tip. However the reel screw is a cheaper plastic. Not the worst I've seen but its below average and I had to keep tightening it. The line guides is what I really don't like. They're just thin metal loops. Its not smooth and I don't have a good feeling about them. Also, there really should be another guide at the tip as the line will go below the rod at the tip on a fish bend.If the KastKing had the Quantum Tip, that would be the perfect budget telescoping rod.

Very nice!
The rod functions perfectly… It feels like it is a normal fishing rod, not telescopic… Good balance… Enjoy using it… Fold up nicely… Excellent product!
