The ROG Azoth Extreme is undeniably expensive, but it’s also one of the most unique and well-built mechanical gaming keyboards I’ve ever used. If you’re already invested in the ROG ecosystem, want everything to match visually, or just appreciate high-end mechanical keyboards with an exquisite design, this one checks nearly every box. The layered aluminum and carbon-fiber construction is both visually striking and extremely solid. You can actually see the stacked layers along the side of the board, which gives it a refined, almost industrial look that feels more like a piece of art than a typical gaming keyboard. The unboxing experience alone sets the tone. Everything is neatly presented in double-layered packaging with a removable drawer underneath, and the keyboard itself comes wrapped in a branded cloth cover. It immediately feels like a premium product. Setup was flawless but did require a Armoury Crate device driver update which installed smoothly and automatically. As someone who spends hours at my computer every day and has owned many mechanical keyboards, this board offers nearly everything I look for. You get a compact 75% layout, fully customizable key assignments and macros "on-the-fly," tri-mode connectivity (RF, Bluetooth, and wired), customizable RGB, a color OLED touchscreen, a multifunction control knob, Speed Tap for gaming, a gasket-mounted design with multiple dampening layers, carbon-fiber plate, and excellent battery life. The pre-lubed ROG NX Snow linear switches feel smooth and consistent, with a controlled sound profile that isn’t overly loud, making this keyboard perfectly usable for both gaming and productivity. The included wrist rest deserves special mention. It’s heavy, well-built, and extremely comfortable, with a rubberized surface that matches the keyboard’s front profile nicely. It doesn’t slide around and feels like it belongs with the board rather than being an afterthought. On the back of the keyboard, there’s a magnetic metal nameplate that cleanly finishes the design while hiding storage for the RF dongle and the physical gasket-adjustment switch. That said, the gasket adjustment is my biggest disappointment. While it’s a great idea in theory, the difference between the two settings is extremely subtle. Neither position is labeled, and while one setting sounds slightly more “thocky” and the other a bit firmer, the change is minimal. After doing some research, it appears this is a common complaint rather than a defect. My other criticisms are fairly minor but worth mentioning at this price point. Customization relies heavily on ASUS Armoury Crate, which can be finicky, and while the Gear web app works for basic adjustments, Armoury Crate is still required for full control. The included braided cable feels surprisingly basic for such an expensive keyboard, and switch lube isn’t included despite this being marketed as a customizable, enthusiast-grade board. The magnetic metal feet work well overall, but they can slide off if you move the keyboard aggressively across a desk. Typing on this keyboard is genuinely enjoyable. The key spacing, textured PBT keycaps, and smooth switches make long typing sessions comfortable and fast. While it’s clearly marketed as a high-end gaming keyboard, I find it just as enjoyable for everyday productivity. The lack of a numpad doesn’t bother me, as everything else I need is here. If you can find the ROG Azoth Extreme below full retail pricing, I would recommend it without hesitation. At full price, it’s more of a luxury purchase that you really have to want. Remove price from the equation, though, and this is one of the best gaming keyboards I’ve ever used.

As a dedicated PC gamer, I've used my fair share of gaming peripherals, but the ASUS ROG Azoth 75% Wireless DIY Custom Gaming Keyboard has taken my setup to a whole new level. This is a well-thought-out product. Build Quality and Design: The build quality is solid and feels incredibly durable. The PBT keycaps are not only high-quality but also give the keyboard a premium, textured feel that’s a joy to type on. The RGB lighting is customizable and vibrant, creating an amazing atmosphere, whether I'm gaming in the dark or just enjoying some downtime. Performance and Comfort: The hot-swappable ROG NX Snow switches are a game-changer. They offer a crisp, tactile feedback that makes every key press satisfying and responsive—perfect for both fast-paced gaming and long typing sessions. The three-layer dampening system does an excellent job of minimizing noise and adding an extra layer of comfort, making the keyboard quiet yet efficient. OLED Display: The OLED display is a nice touch. It’s not just a gimmick, it’s incredibly functional. I love having my system stats, media controls, and other important info displayed right on the keyboard. It adds a level of customization and usability that I didn’t even know I needed until I experienced it. Wireless and Wired Flexibility: The wireless connectivity is flawless. Whether I'm using Bluetooth or the dedicated dongle, the keyboard offers smooth and responsive performance without any noticeable latency. This flexibility is perfect for both my gaming rig and when I want to switch over to my laptop. Battery Life: Great battery life, but I mostly use it plugged in. Overall Verdict: The ASUS ROG Azoth has quickly become my go-to keyboard for all my gaming and productivity needs. It combines fantastic performance, premium features, and a sleek, customizable design. If you’re looking for a keyboard that not only looks great but performs exceptionally well, this is the one to get!

The Asus ROG Azoth keyboard offers a rare combination of customizability and performance, which sets it apart in the gaming and enthusiast markets. Despite its high-profile design, the first row of keycaps stands at only ~2.6cm, making it comparable to standard keyboards and comfortable to use without a wrist rest. Weighing 1.2kg, the keyboard provides a solid, well-built feel with just the right amount of heft. The pre-lubed NX Snow switches and stabilizers are particularly impressive. They deliver a stable, smooth, and satisfying typing experience that surpasses many other switches in the market today. Furthermore, with a bottom-out point of 3.6mm, the NX Snow switches reduce unnecessary typing strokes while maintaining a pleasurable typing experience. After eight days of daily wireless use of about 10 to 12 hours a day, with RGB on at night, the battery life has only dropped to 91%, and this is while delivering the most stable and lowest latency wireless 2.4 GHz connection in the market today. The downside is something that you have probably already heard of, its the software, which you can find many complaints online because it doesn't measure up to the hardware sold. Lastly, if you are not getting the NX Snow or NX Storm switches, i would suggest not buying it altogether because the other switches are clearly inferior.

So far I love everything about this keyboard. Very small and compact, I wish there was more customization for the display (maybe there is and I just haven't found it yet?) but lighting effects are nice. Keyboard sounds great right out of the box (I haven't lubed it but still looks and feels good). Keyboard feels very durable, doesn't feel cheap in any way. Bluetooth, 2.4hz and wired modes. Works with Mac and PC. I came from Razer keyboards, not sure I'll go back!
