Enjoyed making this and it ticks
I like this type of 3D "puzzle" and this makes a functioning clock. No glue is needed owing to interlocking pieces, but I used some glue on some parts just to be sure. All the parts popped out no issues and assembly was easy once parts location and assembly was worked out.

Great fun, but you've got to have patience!
First of all, I'd advise you to be in a positive frame of mind before you begin, as there were many things about this clock that could set steam coming out of your ears, if you are that way inclined. But don't get me wrong, I enjoyed making it, and the finished clock now has pride of place on my bookcase, where it keeps perfect time. So, here's what caused me to mutter under my breath, and let loose the odd swear word...The thin plywood used for the clock is just within the tolerance of the job, although you can't really complain for that price. So you need to push the cut pieces out from the surrounding waste wood very carefully (preferably push from the back) to avoid de-laminating the layers. Each piece will need a good sanding around the edges, and the sandpaper provided is literally a 2 inch square- it will do the job, and is good quality, but at this size it's very fiddly to use, so to save your sanity, I suggest you provide yourself with a bigger piece of sandpaper. The initial two steps of the instructions are fine, they set you up and give you confidence, then it all goes to hell, and the diagrams are so unclear, that you have to work on inspired guesswork - which was sort of fun, but a bit worrying, as once you put the pieces together, care is needed to get them apart without damage. Finally, a word of warning - when you feed the central rod that will hold the hands through the face of the clock, then screw on the nut to secure it all in place, ONLY DO IT UP 'FINGER TIGHT' !! if you use pliers to tighten it like I did, you'll likely hear a sharp 'click' noise as the threaded tube surrounding the central rod snaps. Which is not good! After a fraught half hour (and more swearing) I tried sticking the mechanism to the back of the clock face with superglue, and this worked perfectly. In total, it took me nearly 4 hours to finish, and I reckon I could have done it in less than one hour had there been adequate instructions, or even a clear schematic. But there wasn't.So to sum up, a unique, fun idea, interesting to put together, clock works well, good for the price but don't expect to get it put together quickly. After 4 hours, my sense of acheivement on finishing it was massive, so I guess that's a good thing!

Good item but a couple of problems...
This is the third Quay product I have purchased and I have found all to be relatively straight forward to assemble, stable when complete and an enjoyable way to pass some time. However there were a couple of problems with this one: some of the printing is off centre so the decoration is out of alignment and the clock hands would not go on the right way. I was forced to put them on back-to-front (so they are silver rather than black) which makes them harder to see, The clock is keeping good time and the item does look good however it was slightly disappointing but the problems weren't serious enough to make it worth sending back. The decoration could be painted over and the hands can be replaced.

alittle glue here and there makes the whole thing sturdy, I have a lot of pine as decor ...
this is ideal if you want a space filler thats pracical and attractive,The plans can be a little overwelming at first glance but once the build has started it all becomes clear,As sujested on the box, alittle glue here and there makes the whole thing sturdy,I have a lot of pine as decor so this fitted in very well.

Brilliant
I bought this for my husband for christmas and he loved it! He thought the instructions weren't too helpful and it does actually say to go to a website for further intructions but he managed to do it without that anyway. It looks great on our fireplace and has been ticking away brilliantly. :)
