What a beautiful, beautiful grandfather clock. I really liked that alot but the only thing wrong with it is the second hand came off the stem that is connected to the clock movement. It just sways back and fourth. I did not want to tamper with it cuz it is a simple repair. I recommend everyone and all your relatives, friends, co-workers to buy it. It is made from cherry wood, not plastic. The box now is another thing. It has dents all over because of everybody handling it before it got to me. Not one person is involved with denting the box. It really is a cheap cheap box all you have to do is put your finger on it and you got a dent. It was really tuff getting off all the old stickers and labels. I bought alot of clocks from amazon and returned every one and to bad the second hand is loose cuz otherwise i would of kept it.You will like it as much as i did.

This clock looks okay, but is configured in such a way that it is very difficult to mount on the wall. Clockworks are only accessible through the back, so changing to daylight savings time was so difficult we just skipped it. Same for correcting time or changing batteries. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn’t buy this clock.

I had two main expectations when deciding to purchase this clock-the look of the clock and the sound of the chimes. The clock looks very nice on the wall. The build feels solid and the assembly (just the pendulum) and mounting was very easy. Two issues I ran into were (1) a minor one in that the screws in the battery holders were not put in properly (aka they are not flush) thus the batteries do not fit snugly in the sockets-they rock back an forth and (2) the sound of the chimes was not up to my expectations. They are "cheap" sounding. The chimes on my previous clock were very clear and had a good resonance and tone whether the notes were on the high or the low end and I was hoping this clock would sound just as good.

Very disappointed in this product as the quality is very sub-par. Overall look is great but upon closer examination you begin to see the poor craftsmanship. 1] The box for the chime batteries had dried glue coming through the holes in the back of the box and prevented the batteries from seating well to make a connection.....I had to scrape all of that out. 2] The wood trim at the top of the clock looks like someone broke off the strips of wood at the top and just glued down the remaining rough edges from where it looks like the wood was bent and broken in the overall build. 3] Just like other reviews had indicated, the clock chimes approx. 3-minutes early at the top of each hour. 4] Just like the other reviews said, the chime sounds are cheap and tinny sounding. 5] When the clock arrived, I opened the box and the entire bottom half of the clock, the wood block bottom, fell off/came unglued in shipping I guess.....I had to glue it back together. I just expected much better from Bedford as I've had their products before but, this was most disappointing for sure.

This was a christmas gift for my mom and she loved it !

My son gave it to me for a Christmas present. I love the chimes!
