Get this product now. - If you have an original, glichy, scratchy, or otherwise failing Klipsch Control Pod for your 2.1 Pro Medias, then this is the answer to that problem. It solved my issue of a loud, scratchy, volume pot. I couldn't take it any longer. And I didn't want to buy a used control pod since it would most likely have the same issue sooner or later. Right? So I took a chance and got this thing. Not sorry at all. Works great and I'm glad I got it. Only issue I have had with this gizmo (and it's really not as big of an issue as one might think), is that the unit is too lightweight. Judging from the photos and from the price, I totally expected the black box housing of this thing to be metal. Aluminum at least, steel would have been better. It'd be nice to set it down in a spot and know that it would stay there. But no. It's plastic. And while I would change this aspect of it if I could, I'll also say don't let this one flaw stop you from getting it if you need it. It works great at what it's supposed to do. Plus it's obviously a very niche product and you don't have many, or any, other options. Review: Excellent replacement control pod for the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 - I agree with the reviewers that said this control pod works better than the original and creates a better sound than the original..a better balanced, deeper bass, more refined version through the very good Klipsch satellite speakers. Super easy to hook up, and the connector to the subwoofer seems to have cleared up the crackling from that problem point. I do agree turning off/on the unit causes a loud crack, but I leave mine on all the time, so that is not an issue for me, but might be for some.

it's still a waste of electricity
I recently purchased and installed this device with my new Klipsch Promedia 2.1 computer speaker system. The only reason I purchased it was for the power switch, because the Klipsch speaker system for some reason does not include a power switch. Well, unfortunately, the power switch is not really a power switch. Instead, its really just a switch in the audio input line - the power is never switched off. I confirmed this by connecting the 110v power plug for the system to a power meter, and then looked at power consumption when this control device is switched on versus when the device is switched off. There was no difference at all in power consumption. The system draws 7 watts continuously, regardless of whether the control device is switched on of off. While not a lot, it's still a waste of electricity, it's not the power switch that was sold to me, and there are no benefits to me for using the device. In addition, when it is switched off with iTunes still playing on my computer, some of the sound still plays through the speakers with a crackling sound. It also makes a loud popping sound through the speakers whenever the power switch is turned on and off. I decided it would be better to hook up the original controls that came with the Klipsch speaker system and just turn down the volume all the way. There's no crackling when I want the sound off, there's no loud popping sound when I turn the sound off, and the system is not consuming any more or less energy.

Works as it should
I was experiencing significant crackling in my left speaker so I purchased this unit to replace the Klipsch factory control pod and it works perfectly. The reason I'm leaving four stars instead of five is because the included audio cable that connects from my computer to this unit was garbage. It was causing cutouts and/or low volume in either or both speakers. Luckily I had another cable on hand already and it solved that problem.

Thank God this exists!
I've had these really nice computer speakers hardly used and still in a box and haven't been able to use them in a long time due to a broken connector on the main cable and couldn't ever find a new wire or anyone to fix it and this module finally allowed me to hook up and use the speakers with my TV! I am very happy now!
