Excellent price for a walk down memory lane
If you're a 70's - 80's pepsi generation child, you know what this movie is about. I bought the 4-pack because it was really cheap and offered free shipping. Full of creepy and comedy scenes, this movie is without a doubt one of the better 80's movies. Critters is about little bowling ball sized monsters with nothing but fur and teeth. The original Critters was released in 1986 and did great at the box office. I've seen all four of the parts and they are all equivalently good. Directed by Stepheh Herek, this movie recieved "two thumbs up" from Siskel and Ebert.(Wiki) The central focus of the series is upon a group of ravenous & carnivorous alien creatures called "Krites" that have the ability to roll into little furry balls and combine into a pernicious sphere that can roll across the landscape and cause destruction. In appearance, the individual Krites resemble small furry/spiky animals with large mouths and many sharp teeth. Throughout the movies they attack humans and livestock by biting and attempting to eat them, or at least a piece of them. The spikes on their backs can be launched as projectiles, with devastating effect at times (actually the spikes can render the victim unconscious or asleep and pulling them out can awaken the victim). The coloration of the Krites varies between black, brown and navy blue. In the original film they also managed to grow to a larger size.(Wiki) The storyline for the first two films involves bounty hunters from outer space who hunt the extraterrestrial monsters in small American towns. The setting for the third movie is a city. In the final film, the hunt takes place on a space station.(Wiki) The Krites are ravenous monsters without conscience that exist simply to eat and breed and the main human characters in the films endeavor to protect themselves from the creatures while trying to think of ways to defeat them. Terrence Mann appears in all four films as an interstellar bounty hunter named Ug and Don Keith Opper also appears in all four films as Charlie, a bucolic alcoholic who rises to greatness when called upon to defend mankind from being converted into brunch. Leonardo DiCaprio had a role in Critters 3. Dee Wallace-Stone starred in the first film and Billy Zane had a small role in that production. Scott Grimes starred in the first two films as Bradley Brown.

Critters a good monster movie and full of stars you may know
If you are a fan of old school monster horror then this is probably a good purchase. Critters: It's classic, it's fun, and it's suspenseful. The Critters or "Crites" as they are called by the intergalactic bounty hunters find their way to earth and wreak havoc on a small farm. These fat fur balls eat anything and everything in sight causing them to grow exponentially, not to mention they procreate quickly. Dee Walace who you might recognize from Cujo is the mother of the farm family and Scott Grims who you might know from Party of Five plays the son. The son and the village idiot meet up with Bounty hunters who are also shape-shifters in an attempt to save the small town.Critters 2: Much like the first Critters 2 finds us right where we left off from the first only a few years later. The rumors of the critters have become legend and some eggs that were left behind give the legend life. We see Scott Grimes come back to his small town life for the first time since the move to visit his grandmother and of course he can't live down the legend. Tortured by the past and hopeful for the future he tries to pretend it never happened. We also find the village idiot turned bounty hunter in space working with the aliens he helped. When the bounty hunters find they have left their work undone they return to finish the job for good. Faced again with the horror of the critters a teen Scott Grimes must step up once again and become a man.Critters 3: Part 3 seems to take a different turn but our village idiot bounty hunter returns to give us a feel of the original. Again there were eggs missed and again they hatch but this time they take a road trip to the big city. A young girl is our main character and her father and brother help bring the critters to a slum property in L.A. that is owned by Leonardo DiCaprio's father. The critters find plenty to eat in the slums but a late save by Josh (Leo Dicap)finds us in the same situation as the other movies with believing all the Critters are dead but just when we think they are our village idiot turned bounty hunter shows up ready to exterminate the last two eggs. Then he gets a message from his our bounty hunter friend turned intergalactic councilor president and he tells him he can't destroy them or they will be extinct which is illegal. Against his better judgment our bounty hunter ships the eggs off to space and that's how we get to the 4th film.Critters 4: We are in space and much like every other venture that goes to space, this is where we end. The eggs and our bounty hunter are locked in a space capsule and floating in space. A recon ship picks the pod up in hopes of catching a nice bounty and they strike gold. The intergalactic space council agrees to pay the fee as long as the package is intact. A greedy captain (Anders Hove) who you might recognize from the subspecies (Radu) movie is how our critters escape. Eager to find out what the council is so willing to pay for, he frees the critters our bounty hunter thawed tells our crew of their mistake. We also meet some other characters you might recognize Brad Dourif (Play Chucky in the Childs Play films and Grima Worm tongue in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy) as the engineer and Angel Bassett (Strange Days and Boyz in the Hood). The pesky critters find a way to grow without eating and become a real pain but the council shows up and the real enemy shows itself.Altogether a great collection at a great price.Check out Gremlins if you like this or if you like Gremlins you'll probably like this.
