Lamy Pico: A small and trendy ballpoint that writes very well
I had the Lamy Pico in my sights for awhile, but didn't know if it would be a comfortable pen for me, since it's so small. I bought it and have been very pleased. When extended, it's a surprisingly good writer: comfortable in my hand and smooth on the paper. I bought it in matte black, and it's a trendy-looking classy ballpoint, albeit somewhat of a novelty.I carry the Pico in the zipper pocket of a small planner. I bought the Lamy Pico leather case to better protect the pen, but in hindsight, probably didn't need it. The pen is a sturdy little thing.

Best pen
Apparently this is the best pen since sliced bread, according to my boyfriend. I bought it for him for Christmas and he loves it. He’s a fireman and regularly has to take notes on scenes. It hasn’t failed him yet.

Great idea for compact pen
I first bought one of these 3-4 years ago at a souvenir type shop while traveling. I shoot film cameras and normally use small pocket size notebooks to record exposure etc. The compact size of this pen made it great for that purpose. That pen, a black one, is still working great. A couple years later bought a blue one as I had lost my black one. Then a red one just cause it was cool looking and as a backup. Of course the week after I bought the red one the black one turned up deep down in a pocket of a black camera bag!Now to use. My red one just quit working, will not extend and lock pen for use. Other two working fine and have probably had more use. Despite reviews to the contrary I have seen on Amazon, I have never seen ink refill problems like skipping etc.One problem that does occur on occasion is that the darn things unscrew in my pocket. If partially unscrewed it comes apart as I pull it out and I start looking for the components on the side walk - so far I have always been able to find the components and screw it back together.Overall it is the perfect pen for my application, beating other compact options I had tried. Sometime I will set down at my camera repair desk and try to figure out what ails my red pen, if not it will go to trash unfortunately. That is the only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5.

Super cool
Just what I needed when wearing a dress shirt at work with no pocket. I always had issues with no where to put a standard pen, and this solved the problem. Now I slip it into my jeans on the weekends, golf shorts or anywhere this compact gem fits, and that's just about everywhere. It works smoothly, extends to just the right "regular" pen length and writes as well as any pen I own. One review mentioned about skipping on first pen to paper, but I haven't had that problem. Just don't lose it. It is small and easy to get away from you (I did find mine stuck in the corner of a bag I carry.) I would have bought another one if I hadn't found it.

Lightweight Functional Great pen for EDC
I like this pen. Action to open it is smooth. I don’t care about an audible click. The Lamy 22 refill is not the best writing refill out there but it will do. Pen is lightweight. I rotate it between my Fisher bullet and this for pocket EDC

Great design, great portability, unreliable ink refill
I was hesitant about using this because even though it looks great (retracted) I didn't fully like the look of the pen when it's ready to write. I ordered one just to give it a try and ended up liking it. The function of this pen is quite impressive, something you'd expect from LAMY - and especially Franco Clivio.I'm now going straight to my disappointment with the pen as I'm returning mine tomorrow. The actual feel of the pen doesn't feel as nice as I'd expect or want it to. It almost feels cheap. Even the feel of it when retracting/opening it feels odd to me. I know you're paying more for the design and the compact size, but I'd gladly pay close to $50 to this for a more sturdy feel/design. This can be overlooked on my part, so it's not that big of deal. The main problem I had with this pen (as I've seen many others having with this) isn't the pen itself - but the ink refill. Mine did not write fluidly or consistently. It skipped quite often and sometimes just simply wouldn't put out any ink. I unscrewed it to check the refill and saw ink coming out towards near the tip. I touched it to see if it had any give and it literally came apart which resulted in a nasty little inky mess. I'm not sure if this pen was a return or the ink was a knock-off, but this isn't something you'd expect from LAMY. Unfortunately problems with their refills are quite common, so I'm just sending it back and going to risk it with another color pen of the same model (I prefer the blue one, anyway).

Love thus pen
Feels great in the hands, and is nice and compact when pen tip is in. Even fits well in lighter pocket of men's denim jeans. Writes fluidly, and I would say it writes somewhere in between medium and fine tip. Great value for name brand pen.Watch out for pen thieves, because this is one that is sure to disappear if you aren't careful.

The ink should be darker.
It's a good design, except it rattles when in use. The ink is good as well for a ballpoint as mine wrote smoothly and cleanly. My only problem with this is the ink isn't as dark as I want it to be. I hope they'll improve their inks.
