Knock 'em Dead Cover Letters: Cover letter samples and strategies you need to get the job you want Paperback – October 18, 2012

...due in no small part to the "Knock 'em Dead" series. I first purchased an earlier edition of "Knock 'em Dead: Cover Letters" while I was a senior in college. When it was time for a career shift 6.5 years later I purchased this edition. Professionally, I've used the cover letters within throughout. Never have I been unemployed. If there is a stronger recommendation I can give to purchase this book, I don't know of it.To get the most out of this book (i.e., a job) you'll need "Knock 'em Dead: The Ultimate Job Search Guide" and "Knock 'em Dead: Resumes" too. Not including all three of these books in one tome is a shameless ploy to get you to spend more, -- but you'll make up the cost of all three with your new job's first paycheck.

Most companys want cover letters now. I don't care how smart you are if you try to write it yourself you will fail. This book teaches you to brag on yourself which most people have a hard time doing. But the purpose of a cover letter is to sell yourself to the company you are seeking to get a job with. Buy this book, read it, look at the cover letters. If you can't think of sentences take various lines out of the letters (don't copy a letter), and make paragraphs that make sense. Don't be afraid to brag on yourself and get that job!!!

This book helped me create many very professional cover letters. The greatest thing about this book is that it covers almost all the documents you need throughout the whole process except for resumes. I've already used it in networking letters, and thank you letters. If you are not very good at sentence structure, this book has some awesome phrases to help you out for any situation.

Maybe it was just a coincidence, but the first job I wrote a cover letter for using this book is the first one that called me for an interview, and ultimately hired me for. Even though there weren't any specific example letters for my position (biology major, research laboratory assistant), I was still able to pick and chose phrases to craft a persuasive cover letter. I really think you should give it a try!

I haven't finished reading every chapter, but the chapters I have read are excellent. I can't wait to use the suggestions! This is the best book I have read on cover letters! I bought several books from resume's to cover letters and interview books and I have to say, this is the best one I have read. My suggestion is to purchase this book.

It includes very specific examples. In my opinión, the most valuable information is in the first 108 pages where it is explained how to write a strong cover letter. There are many sample letters but thery are not arranged by industry. This means that you may be lucky if you find a simple letter for a position you are looking for.

Arrived on time and in fantastic shape. I ordered a used one that was supposed to be in good shape, but it came and looks brand new to me. Thanks amazon! I've skimmed through it, and can tell that it is pretty a resourceful book, although I work for the government and already know some of the material.

Clear, concise, practical and time saving.A definitive guide to a better CV that any job seeker should have.Very useful for USA and UK but not for Germany.For Germany I would recommend seeking professional advice, as the German applications are much more complicated, formal and with hidden language.
