Keyless Lathe Drill Chuck 1-13mm 1/2" Steel Self-tightening and MT2-B16 Arbor

I have just spent hundreds of pounds on a new standing drill press. But I was not happy with the chalk that came installed. I looked around and sure there are some expensive options out there for a chuck, but this chuck is such an improvement on my previous one it works fantastically and is made to a good quality, feels weighty and the prices is sensible.The MT2 fits perfectly, and this Chuck has been working well with just a one-handed operation, but when I really want to tighten it up to hands are needed, but no worries because the grip built-in to the chuck is more than enough. No more messing around looking for a chuck key, or using one that is not quiet the right fit. Wish I had changed The chuck out on my previous drill press years ago.For the level of accuracy that I need in my woodwork shop this chuck does more than enough to justify the relatively small price you have to pay and The wobble from the truck is negligible.When I need to I will definitely be replacing the drill chuck on my lathe with one of these.

Great value for money - probably a bit long on mini or small wood lathe tail stock which is what I'm using it for, my lathe is a large professional one with a good size bed length. But very sturdy well made and grips large (100 mm) Forstner Bits with ease and keeps them locked in place. The taper is long giving a good grip so remember to wind out your tail stock a bit extra before inserting so it grips inside well. The tightening mechanism is smooth and the whole thing feels very solid. would highly recommend

Fits nicely on my Herald lathe tailstock, good solid heavy metal, nicely machined jaws.

I bought this with a 2MT shank to use in the tail-stock of my lathe. The run-out was checked with a 10 mm drill and was found to be less than 0.05mm which is good enough for my needs. The chuck holds drills soundly with reasonable hand tightening and the MT shank is a good fit in the tails-stock sleeve.

I have long been a fan of this "Albrecht" design over the "Jacob's" type with key. This one is of excellent quality and accuracy. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Not the best, a lot of runout

I only gave a 2 as I had to grind the jacobs chuck taper end as it was way over size and did not fit even after heating the chuck and super cooling the arbor. I needed to use the chuck straight away so could not wait for returns.

Replaced the Jacobs type chuck in my pillar drill with this. It works very well I can now change a drill in a second or two. It runs true and never slips.
