after buying this, i saw debatable results with a rog Zephyrus g16 2024 in most all situations. video rendering, 4k gaming, running engineering sims. while the plate is cool to the touch, i did not see any noticeable difference in temperature. while the concept is novel, it may violate the laws of thermodynamics. the heat sink is expelling energy downwards, effectively taking away heat from the system but the intake fan can easily mix the 2 streams effectively adding 20 watts of heat into the system. it may not be for me, but if you do buy it, make sure to put it in an open space so it doesn't breathe in exhaust. At max fan speed I would say the noise level is negligible. I'm just going to try repurposing it for a dj touring stand. weight functionality and durability are all high end and beat out many other stands.

The stand is heavy metal, so it won't tip , and it's tight so it won't change position during computer use. Care should be taken to fit the lower edge of the laptop to the two brackets at the lower edge of the stand. My 15.6 HP has an angled bottom edge that can slip. Plugged into my laptop for power, the stand reduced the heat coming from the laptop's own cooling areas. With an after-market 20W plug, it would have an even stronger effect. It is easy to set up and attach the cooling device. No tools needed, but some are provided if the hinges are too tight. They were not for me and I like the reassurance of the tightness and the weight of the base. The cooling is quiet. I can hear my laptop fan, not the METFUT fan. For the price on Amazon, this stand is more solid and stronger than I expected.

Worked great for eleven months, until the fan bearings started to go. At that point, it made buzzing sound so loud that it became unusable. I took it apart to see if the fans were standardized and easily replaceable, but they were not. For this kind of money, I expect more durability.

This laptop cooler is “ok”. Why do you ask? Well, pull up a chair and let me share with you on my findings. Now, mine, are mine and others are probably different. Well, not everyone has the same laptop. First, I set the laptop on the base, and set the angle that I wanted. Then, I removed the laptop and I tightened down those screws (with the supplied wrench) very tight. I then placed the laptop back on, and what do you know!? It dropped down! I took the laptop back off (after adjusting the angle again) and tightened them as far as I could. I was almost certain that would do the trick. . . Nope! I had to take a roll of tape, and wedge it between the base and the bottom of the stand to prevent it from lowering. Operation: It cools the laptop quite well. You can adjust the cooling base to match your laptop vents. It’s super quiet. Oh! I almost forgot! It has LED’s by the fans, so you can pretend to be at a Rave while working. I would have given it 5 stars, but the base wouldn’t stay put. Now, I know what you’re thinking. He must have a 18” Alienware laptop that weighs 20 pounds!! I wish!! I have a thin Dell 15”.
