Great! Get the 18” if you want to hit 2 studs!!
Easy to install! Hanging 50lb mirror NO PROBLEM! Secure, safe!I used a washer around the lag screw they give to mount the wall mount, because 2 screws in the stud secured it properly. To much length between studs for me to have two studs. So where that little level goes I used a washer around the screw there, and angled a screw to the stud from a regular hole. Nice secure hold.

Does the job
I have a framed, Chinese needle silk picture that needed to be securely hung. Chinese silk pictures aren't painted. It's done with very fine and finely dyed thread, takes weeks to make and cost quite a bit. They're also exceptionally gorgeous. So I needed something secure. This is slated to hold 100 lbs, and the picture is only about 25 lbs at most (with frame and glass), so it was a bit of overkill on my part. The hanger kit comes with frame attachment screws that are about 1/2 of an inch long, which was okay for the frame I had. If you have a thinner frame, you'll need shorter screws. They self-tapped easily enough and the only trick was making sure the right side of the hanger was up and even with the frame. I recommend using an awl of some kind to center your holes before using the screws for best results. The sheetrock screws that come with the hanger worked, but you might want to be sure you don't have a stud behind the sheetrock before you start hanging the picture. The sheetrock screws have very wide threads and not very deep screwdriver holes (a Phillip's head), which means you'll have a lot of trouble with wood even if you have the right size of Phillip's screwdriver. Don't over-tighten them in the sheetrock, either. It's easy to strip out the plaster with the threads, leaving a large, useless hole.I avoided the above issues (at least I learned from my past mistakes), and it hung the picture very nicely. Again, a bit of a dent with an awl to center your holes is advised. The included level made the job a lot easier, and appeared to be accurate. In the end, it seems stable enough and unless we get a much more severe earthquake than we've had in the past, I expect the thing to stay put.it gets one star off because the bottom of the picture doesn't sit against the wall as I expected it to. Some foam padding under it will stabilize it so that if there IS an earthquake, it won't rattle against the wall (and maybe break the glass). At least I know it won't come off the wall.

Genius Simplicity
I had a really heavy particle board headboard that is like a bookshelf with multiple levels to it for my charging station and water, etc. Because I use a box spring, it felt like the headboard was too short and I was covering the shelves when I was sleeping. I knew I had to remove it from the frame and hang it on the wall about a foot higher... but I was scared of how to do this without ruining the headboard- the backing that faces the wall is just like strong cardboard so I can't just drill through it.I used this French cleat hardware and screwed directly into the top panel of the headboard- the small 1in side that touches the wall. I then found my wall's studs and hung the second French cleat to the wall securely. It was easier than hanging up a picture once the pieces were secured to the item/wall!I simply hung up the headboard on the ledge created by the French cleat. It's been about 5 months and there has been no issue or movement. 100% secure!Unfortunately because it's near impossible to find real wood furniture nowadays, the headboard is starting to come apart from ~gravity~ since it can only be held to the wall by the top panel. At no fault of this hardware, just basic physics lol Once I get a new headboard set up, I'll be keeping this hardware for future use of pretty much anything. I'm very very happy with it!
