Needs a lower 1/3 riser and maybe a QD mount
Will still give it 5 stars, yet it has a fatal flaw, BUT with a simple fix. PLEASE ADD A RISER TO THESE UNIT SO THEY CAN BE USED WITH OPTICS AT THE LOWER 1/3 CO-WITNESS HEIGHT. Still a great bang for the buck when it comes to 3X magnifiers. Great eye relief, good glass, simple yet sturdy flip to side deployment without buttons or pulling back on the magnifiers. A tad heavy (but that is will all Monstrum products). A QD mount option would be nice.

A great value for the money
The Monstrum 3X magnifier is a great value for what you pay. It is well-made, feels solid, and the elevation and windage adjustments have crisp clicks. I bought the magnifier to go with a Monstrum Ghost on a Benjamin Armada .22 air rifle I have just upgraded. One concern I had was that the magnifier might not focus crisply at some of the closer air rifle distances. To my relief, this proved not to be an issue. I will note a downside commented on by other reviewers: it is a pain to change the 3X magnifier to flip to the right instead of to the left (how it comes from the factory). This is because the Torx screws holding the magnifier tube to the mount are both Loctited and over-torqued, making them very hard to loosen. If you are right-eye dominant like me, be prepared for this task. For those intending to use the magnifier on an AR, I did try this magnifier in place of my Eotech costing several times as much. It aligned perfectly with my Eotech holographic sight and proved a crisp image of the reticle. I cannot say more because this was the view from the workbench, not the firing line. If I get a chance to actually shoot it with the Eotech holographic sight, I will update this review.

It Monstrum, not an EoTech...
Can't really complain, it budget optic does exactly what it says it's intended to do -- 3x magnification, no more and no less. Out of the box it's mounted to swing off to the left (i.e., backwards for right-handed users)? This puts it right in front of the user's left eye if working w/ "2 eyes up". However, easy to rectify and just turn the optic around in the mount. Be careful doing so, the mounting screws are cheap Chineseum and will strip out if not done with caution and proper hand tools. Otherwise the clarity is good enough in normal daylight w/ some distortion at the outside edges and a weird greenish tint. Lock-up in position and out of position is positive, and the sight stays where it's put. And it's a bit heavy for what it is. But it does the job on my AR .450 Bushmaster. After reading all the negative responses, it's not hard to see ham-fisted and inexperienced users complaining about things they screwed up and not the sight itself or Monstrum...UPDATED (12/12/24): Have used this for two hunting seasons now and will say it's performance in low-light is on par w/ some of the better 56mm scopes I have. W/ ambient light can see roughly 45min after sunset and still make out colors. The retention is still rock solid -- it holds wide open, and holds tightly closed. Pairs nicely w/ the 30mm cantilever Primary Arms red dot I have on my AR450 Bushmaster and absorbs recoil nicely. After two seasons running this for deer and hogs, I cannot complain and considering buying another. Quality is well above the price-point.

Exceptionally clear glass, correct height for my build
it works flawlessly. The glass was exceptionally clear and bright for this price-point, and the height was perfect for my build. The return to zero seemed true, while any lensing effect was not noticed despite repeatedly flipping the magnifier to the side and back. I don't expect it to keep up in harsh conditions like my expensive glass, but this is beyond great for a <200yds range tool.

flips to the right
all the reviews I read about this magnifier says it comes set to flip to the left.mine arrived in a sealed package.the one I received flips to the right.the optics are clear and bright.it’s made very very well and lines up perfectly with my red dot.the focus ring works very well.I would recommend this to anyone who wants a 3x magnifier.

Looks phenomenal, but mine arrived damaged.
I have been looking at buying a magnifier for some time. Running mainly Romeo5's from Sig, running a Juliet was the obvious choice for the budget minded, however I kept coming back to the Monstrum in my searches.I decided to give it a go, and being a Prime item knew that I'd have some leeway if the quality was very poor. The item arrived and the packaging is definitely very slick. Opening the box, I was struck by how dang-cool the Ghost is in person.. very much in line with my Romeo5's, and seemingly a very well made piece of kit.People usually complain that the Ghost flips the wrong way for most who are right handed and needs to have the mount removed and flipped around. This one flipped to the right however, so either it had been returned and the original purchaser had done that, or Monstrum is now changing the mount position from factory. My main concern with optics is the viewing box, and here is where I had problems getting a decent picture. The Ghost lined up well with my Romeo without any adjustment, but I just couldn't get a decent sight in on my red dot without a lot of manipulation to get my eye in just the right spot. That's where I saw a hairline fracture in the glass... almost invisible but there, and so I am not sure if the poor view window is indicative of the product, or the result of being out-of-whack. Perhaps the magnifier was damaged or dropped, causing the crack, and the glass to be out of alignment.Either way, I couldn't use it, and ended up spending over double the price on a Juliet. However, I will be open to giving Monstrum another shot in the future, as I'm not convinced my poor experience wasn't just the result of bad luck in getting a damaged unit. They seem very sturdy and look awesome, which obviously makes you a much better shooter, am I right?
