Absolutely beautiful knife. Total class!
Everything about this knife shouts class and quality. I got it as a birthday present (though admittedly one I chose myself) and I couldn’t be more pleased with it.As a gift it is impressive straight away with the classy box which flips up to display knife inside, Ali g with blade protector and cleaning cloth. The blade itself is a thing of beauty with the amazing pattern on the blade - which I think is called ‘raindrop Damascus’. I’ve tried to show a close up photo of the pattern but the blade is so shiny mostly what you can see is the reflection of my hand and phone taking the picture! The handle is very solidly fitted and completely comfortable in the hand and the whole knife feels beautifully balanced. As for sharpness, it arrives razor sharp and stayed that way for weeks. I’ve been using it daily for 4 months. I periodically sharpen my kitchen knives with a Japanese wet stone but I haven’t had to do that yet. A couple of strokes with my ceramic steel sharpener every few days brings it back to razor sharpness in seconds.Okay, it’s not exactly cheap (that’s why I chose it as a present - I’m not sure I’d have allowed myself the indulgence of £70 or so on a kitchen knife) but it’s worth every penny and will be my prized possession in the kitchen for a long time to come.If you’re looking for a classy gift for someone who loves cooking, you can’t go wrong with this.

A sharp and beautiful knife
I'm not a professional, so I cannot really compare this with other products or talk about the actual quality of the materials or the built. What I can say is that, even coming from another good quality knife, the difference was impressive and put a smile on my face. The product looks and feels great and it comes in a nice package. It has a certain weight to it and I can finally understand when I heard people saying:"You have to let the knife do the job".Many of the things I was kind of struggling to do, now they are pretty much effortless.Very happy about the product, especially considering the good discount I received during the prime days.If you chop a lot of stuff for your daily meals, it's definitely worth buying a good knife like this one.

Balanced, sharp, well made
I couldn’t be happier honestly.Incredibly well made, sharp and balanced.Such a versatile tool - peels with ease and cuts/slices like a hot knife through butter.

The finish of both blade and handle is excellent - up with the likes of Dalstrong or Zelite ...
The utility knife - the much underrated but essential element of any serious cook's knife block. And this 5 inch blade has pleasantly surprised me. In fact I would say it's quite a bargain. The finish of both blade and handle is excellent - up with the likes of Dalstrong or Zelite in my opinion - while costing substantially less.It has good weight, sits comfortably in the hand and with a VG0-10 core is extremely sharp, straight out of the box.For those who like their knives to come in an attractive package (I'm not so fussed as all my knives live in a block) it will not disappoint. The aesthetics of the knife itself are higher up my list of priorities - and this is little Koi, with its discreet Damascus finish, hits that particular spot right in the bull's eye.In summary, it is competitive in price, performance, appearance and manufacturing quality. As I said, quite a bargain, one I would not hesitate to reccomend.

Best Knife ever>
This knife is beautiful in every way. I don't care it wasn't made in Japan as some reviewers commented. I used to make real swords before retiring and I can tell you the craftsmanship is superb and every bit as good as if it was made in Japan and the price I paid for it was well below anything made in Japan.

Great customer service.
There are many in depth reviews attached to this product so if you need all the technicalities browse through them. However all you need to know, assuming that you want a great set of super sharp knives, is that you've found the source. With the added benefit of a value for money price. I bought these having shopped around on the internet because the company offer a discount structure based on the number that you purchase. I was prepared to buy, initially, from another, dearer, company but they wouldn't consider even a small discount for multiple purchases, so they lost out, to Koiartisan's gain. As regards customer service you can not fault them especially in the form of Alex. Every company should have an Alex! Time, obviously, will tell if my decision was right, but at the present moment I am well satisfied.
