Solid affordable CAD/CAM graphics card.
When using MasterCAM or Solidworks, videocard choice is very important. The reason you shouldn't just use a stock or gaming card for CAD/CAM, even if it's GPU stats are better, is the software companies write specific optimized video drivers for their products (this is a good thing). That's why for engineering workstations the NVidia Quadro line and it's lateral AMD competitors give better performance. Quadro cards can be very expensive, so it's always cost-benefit quandary. You can spend thousands on a great CAD/CAM graphics card, but the speed benefits drop off at a certain point. We've found the 4GB Quadro K2200 is reasonably priced and provides solid improvements to our engineering PC's. Obviously, if you can afford a higher model Quadro, go for it, but this one is solid for latest version of MasterCAM and Solidworks. Time is money, and you don't want an engineer of CNC operator waiting around for a part to render or an optimal toolpath calculation to finish. Save them 30 minutes a day by getting a better graphics card, and that really adds up over the year.

So far so good as it delivers on all levels as advertised HOWEVER ...
So far so good as it delivers on all levels as advertised HOWEVER I purchased the generation prior to this one (i.e. 2000) and I got only two years of use out of it before it died a violent death. I never seem to EVER get more then 4-5 years out of Nvidia cards but a mere two? Not good.

K2200 solved the Revit 2013 crashing problem..
I am Revit user and I am working with Revit version 2013-2016. Last few weeks, I had problem with Revit 2013, it was crashing. I checked out my old video card (NVIDIA K600) on Autodesk hardware recommendation for Revit version 2013-2016. The K600 video card is an Autodesk recommended card for each Revit version. I think, it is apply only if you have one version installed on your system. Because I am a heavy Revit user and all version installed on my workstation, I decided to swap the old K600 to K2200. (I use the Dell Precision T3610 model) The Revit 2013 problem is solved and I do not have any problem with Revit 2013 and other Revit version. I think Autodesk recommendation is partially valid, newer Revit version and multiple version installed on same system should suggest better video card with newer processor and more memory on board than K600.The new K2200 works perfect, easy to install. The K2200 card works much better with all Revit application and faster with regenerating 3D views.I would recommend this card for heavy CAD/Revit workstation.

Great card, excellent price
Excellent graphics card for my new build, and the best price I've found anywhere.I bought this for a cost-effective 3D and animation system. So far, it's working beautifully.

Not only is it expensive but it also does no good for autocad / like programs
Why would you buy this? Not only is it expensive but it also does no good for autocad / like programs. Get a 10 series.

If you use Revit and are doing large 3D models this is a must have.
Been using this a couple months now and it is holding up very well. I haven't noticed any hiccups when using it in Revit and AutoCAD. Revit 3D is smooth and AutoCAD runs slick as ever. Very good product.
