Why did you pick this product vs others?:I chose a Bissell machine because I have had one in the past and wanted a Bissell again. Also, the price was reasonable. I bought this machine in June of 2025. However, I did not unbox or use the shampooer until July 5, 2025. I had to make sure that it worked before my return window closed from Amazon.First I vacuumed well. Then I followed the instructions and cleaned two areas. One on the wall to wall carpet where I had some water stains from plant drippings. The 2nd area I cleaned was on a 5x7 rug in the bathroom -- 2 different types of carpets. Both areas/carpets came out clean. There is always a learning curve to know how long or how often to press the spray trigger. It does seem to spray quite a bit of water/solution. Make sure you do many dry passes to pull up the excess wet solution. As the directions clearly state, "make dry passes by pushing machine forward and back and across carpet until water can no longer be seen through the nozzle." This is important to make sure your carpet does not stay too wet. In other words, GET YOUR FINGER OFF THE SPRAY TRIGGER!Ease of use:The instructions are well written and picture displays may help a first time user. Pictures made assembly clear, but it is really simple to "snap" the pieces together.The machine comes with 2 different 8 oz. bottles of cleaner to try. = nice touch, Bissell.The machine is very light weight once it is out of the package. I am glad I had it delivered instead of picking it up at a department store. Easier for this older woman. One small issue is the On/Off button. It is encapsulated in a plastic housing. A bit confusing. I searched the instructions to see if I was supposed to pry off the plastic housing. Apparently not. Please take note, this machine DOES NOT come with upholstery attachmentsThis small machine does the trick for my small dwelling. If you have a large home, maybe consider a larger machine. This one is great for my 3 rooms and small enough to store in the closet -- right next to the vacuum cleaner.I hope this machine lasts for years to come. I will report back if it does not.

I still need new carpet, it’s 15 years old. Just waiting for cooler weather. Never in a million years did I think it would work this well. I looked at the before and after picks and thought if it works 1/2 as well I’d be happy. I’m more than happy, pics are not the same as in person. It looks better than my pics. Assembly is quick and easy, cleaning the machine is easy. Price is more than fair. Had no leaks, no issues. I did use a full bottle of cleaner but it was bad. Went over hard spots a few times. Dirty water container fills up quick but don’t see it as a negative. Sucks up quick and was dry in a few hours.

I haven’t used it just yet, but it was easy to put together, I was done in 5 min. It’s very compact so should be easy to store. I love the smaller sized cleaners.UPDATE!!!This little machine packs some power! I was very satisfied with how well it cleaned! It doesn’t leave your carpet soaked.

I'm absolutely delighted with this carpet cleaner! It’s exactly what I needed. I have several runners and a few area rugs, and this machine is both powerful and conveniently compact and lightweight—ideal for me given my mobility challenges. Assembly was simple, and cleaning it afterward was a breeze. I highly recommend it!

Excellent professional quality in a small and economical package! I have hired professional cleaners for the past couple of years because I have very light colored berber carpet with a dog and a small child. This machine worked just as well as the professionals. I followed the directions on first use and was impressed that it took all of the stains out of my carpet. The carpet looks brand new again! I love how you can take everything apart and get it cleaned. The machine does not leave the carpet too wet and the room was "walk ready" in about 2 hours with a ceiling fan on. I would recommend to a friend and I would purchase again. The price of this machine was the same amount as hiring a professional one time! I love the small size of the machine and it fits neatly in the closet and is very lightweight. The only small complaint I have is the size of the dirty tank is quite small, but this is not a big deal. I was just surprised the first use how quickly it filled up. If you want some more onboard storage, go with the XL!

For the price, this machine does a nice job! Yes the collection tank is small, so you will have to empty a lot; however, for $80-$90 it’s worth it. Cleans well and easy to assemble.

This lightweight Bissell rug cleaner is amazing! I used it on a large area rug that gets heavy traffic, and it was so easy to use. I'm ashamed of how much dirt and dog hair came out. However, dumping the dirty dark water is somehow very rewarding. Great product! Thank you. I will definitely be ordering the Bissell cleaning product in the future for this machine.
