Samsung A16 5G - 6 month review.
I got a Samsung A16 5G for my 80+ year old mother, she's vary happy with it and finds it easy to use. I very impressed with it too. I'm amazed at how good phones under $200.00 are getting with today's technology, especially the display technology. The OLED display in this phone looks really good. My mother does about an hour a day of screen time and she's getting about 3 days between charges. I don't much care for the plastic case / housing, but for a sub $200 price, I think it deserves the 5 star rating.

It works with Cricket Wireless...
I just want to start with I wasn't sure if it would work with my wireless carrier that it is Cricket Wireless because I had a bad experience ordering a phone online (not in Amazon) in the end it wasn't compatible with Cricke Wireless so I had to go through the process of returning the phone and I didn't want to do that any more but this phone is completely compatible with Cricket Wireless so hopenthat helps someone if they have the same wireless carrier. In another note this my third phone after accidentally breaking two phones first one a razr 2024 then a samsung galaxy a54 5g so I decided to stick with samsung because I loved my other samsung galaxy but I didn't want to spend so much money after my experience of breaking two that were not very expensive but also they were not cheap so I order this one and I am not disappointed works great and very responsive the best part is that worked with Cricket Wireless like I have mentioned before I am so happy that I have a Samsung phone again that is a great phone and I didn't spend so much money. Highly recommend it it gives you phone update quite often so you are updated on the quality and performance now I don't know much about technology at my 30's but I know when a phone works good and this one does. I love it. Got the light grey and it's beautiful.

Great Android features but no screen recorder on the A16 or A-Series? Good camera and durability.
This A16 model with Android version 14 is consistent with its predecessors in most regards, except on of which is that the screen recording function has been omitted from this A16 model as with others for some odd reason. I am considering returning the phone but all the other major features are working wonderfully, right out of the box. Larger build, robust look & feel, apps are user-friendly in the android software. I don't understand what led to the omission of the screen recorder but all the other Android software features seem to be working properly. Camera focuses better than the S10-Plus also. Longevity remains to be determined. I have used an S21 model which uses the same camera design and that failed within a year. But out of the box everything about this phone & camera are as good as advertised. Phone charges relatively quickly too.

ππThis is a REALLY GREAT PHONE!!!ππ
I was looking to buy an android that would have updates for a few years, good sound quality, a camera that takes great photos, a vivid and bigger than average screen for gaming, movies and music, good amout of storage, SD and SIM card adapter, works with any carrier and affordable. It has met my expectations completely and I am really happy with this purchase. Easy set up and navigation. Long battery life. No lag, connects quickly. Swipes, scrolls and operates smoothly. Light weight, not bulky. Looks and feels durable.I've already recommended this phone to a few of my friends and would definitely buy this phone again.MAHALO, SAMSUNG !!! ................ for this AWESOME, 2025 Samsung A16 5 G Phone!!!ππA HUGE MAHALO, to AMAZON!!! ...........for Your WONDERFUL SERVICE in SUPPLYING, DELIVERING GREAT PRODUCTS with GREAT PRICES!!!ππ

A bang for your buck
Given that I bought it for less than 190 bucks, I wasnβt having any great expectations. I had to buy a new phone fast because my A54 died on me out of nowhere. This phone wasn't as big of a downgrade as I thought. Good memory, has expendable memory and some good battery life (use it for half a day of YouTube spends 40-30 percent)Of course, if you want to play games without breaking your balance account then you better look for an A50 series or just a Samsung FE's (if you don't mind giving up expandable storage)

Upgraded to Samsun A16
I had a very old Moto G7 Power that having issues not the least of which is the last update took it to Android 10. This phone is dual SIM and supports eSIM. The switch from my old carrier to my new carrier was very easy.

What do you want a phone for?
I love me some gadgets! I loved my Note 9. Well... not really. I don't like having something that constantly wants my attention. My kids are grown so leave me alone. There are a couple of apps I need to monitor. Short backstory: I am a real boomer. I was born in the first half of the last century. I remember party lines, rotary dials, and 7 digit phone numbers. Yes, thats before area codes. What I like about the A16.It didn't cost me my first born child... I mean it didn't cost me a months rent or small payments well into the afterlife. Its not ancient. I can make calls. I can read my health levels passively, although I'm still not getting my blood pressure cuff to talk to the phone...What I dont like about the A16The MOST annoying thing is it won't allow me to add different ringtones to different contactss. It was annoying enough that the Note 9 didn't allow me to change my notification sounds individually, when I could previously. I was allowed to copy contacts with different alert sounds with the Note 9. I can't with this phone. I know... first world problems. (rant off)This phone seems like it doesn't know if it is large phone or a small tablet. Neither do I.I am mad at myself for not noticing it doesn't hava a battery that will charge remotely. This boomer's hands don't work like they did when I was 30. I have trouble with plugging the thing to a charger.I am mostly annoyed that since I bought the phone from Amazon I had to do all the assembly myself, i.e. putting sim/sd cards in and transfering data. --also my fault. I think I have it 3 stars and not 4 because my devices hate me. All of them.
