Rex gives it 5 stars! The cage is great and helps keep my adventurous tortoise entertained. It’s easy to clean, except for the ramp. It stains easily but it’s not a big deal. The only cons are 1) The screws fell out of the ramp pretty quickly and it fell under Rex’s weight. It gave him a complex. I put thicker screws in and it seems sturdier. 2) Rex likes to jump off the balcony, and then climb back up and do it all over again. I freaked out the first 100 times but now it’s normal. I’ve tried blocking it but he always finds away.

⚠️ Warning to Potential Buyers: Quality Control and Assembly Issues – Buyer Beware I ordered the BIRASIL Wood Tortoise Enclosure with Adjustable Light Stand, 2-Tier Habitat Reptile Cage with Swimming and Feeding Areas (Gray/White), excited to set it up for my lady’s beloved turtles. Unfortunately, the experience was frustrating from start to finish. ________________________________________ 🚚 Damaged Parts on Arrival & Replacement Issues The enclosure arrived with a cracked plastic viewing screen — not surprising, as I had seen similar complaints in other reviews. Right out of the box, the damage was obvious. I submitted for a replacement immediately. To Amazon’s credit, the return process was seamless. However, the replacement unit had the exact same plastic screen damaged in the same spot. This clearly highlights a lack of quality control and poor packaging design. The fragile clear plastic is not adequately protected during transit. ________________________________________ 🔧 Combining Two Kits to Make One Usable Enclosure Determined to get this done, I kept the original unit and used parts from both boxes to create one functional enclosure. Swapping the plastic panels was easy enough (just two screws), but the build process only got more complicated from there. ________________________________________ 🪵 Incorrect Factory Assembly & Defective Components Once I began assembly, I ran into multiple manufacturing issues: • The wooden lid props were mounted backwards. • Of the four stop blocks, two were installed on the wrong side and two others prevented the lids from closing completely — I had to remove them with a flat-head screwdriver. • The front latches were incorrectly installed on the back. Because of this, I mistakenly mounted the lids on the wrong side. That error left screw holes from the hinges on what should have been the front. After realizing the mistake, I had to redo several steps. Now the enclosure has visible screw holes on both the front and back panels due to the confusion caused by the manufacturer’s error. I removed and repositioned the stop blocks, flipped the lid props to pull from the front (instead of the back, where the hinges are), and used white spackle to patch all unnecessary holes. Thankfully, the spackle blends in well unless you look closely. ________________________________________ 📄 Terrible Instructions & a True Test of Patience The instructions were vague and poorly written — completely inadequate for this level of manual correction. Several parts came pre-assembled incorrectly, making the provided directions even less useful. I strongly recommend fully inspecting every component before starting assembly. This process was so frustrating that my lady was in tears trying to figure it out. I stuck with it and made it work — but this enclosure definitely tested my patience. ________________________________________ ✅ Final Thoughts Once fully assembled (and modified), this enclosure looks great. But don’t expect it to be plug-and-play. Be prepared for damaged parts, misassembled components, and a poor instruction manual. If you’re set on buying this, I recommend ordering two units, using the good parts from both to build one functional enclosure, then returning the damaged components. I like the set up. when I put it together the tray will only pull out one way so if you put it up against the wall it will have to be moved before cleaning. I did love how it all fit together with pegs the screws. very easy to put together. the one side was broke when we opened the package. I need this and do not have time to send it back for replacement.

Glass came broken. The parts that were already assembled kept coming off. The screw holes were either painted over or just not there has to make my own holes.

Piece #1 had cracked glass. I would appreciate a new #1 piece sent to me so I can replace it for my son.

I am in love this this woody artsy setup.The color and so much room he loves his new home .

This is the second time I’ve ordered this product. I had to return the first one because pieces was broken on it. The quality of the wood is really cheap. When I receive my second one, it was missing a screw washer and nuts. There was also another piece broken and I had to use wood glue to put it together. I planned on getting two of these items, but after the experience I have with this product I’m just gonna look for something else.

This product is exactly as crappy as you think it will be, but also works just fine. Mine arrived with a really scratched up acrylic panel, lots of uneven paint finishes, missing screw holes, and a couple missing nuts.
