Though I've been using "red tape" for quite some time to adhere iPad digitizers...and with decent success, I'm always up for something better. I saw this tape mentioned on a repair forum and thought I'd give it a try. I can get the red tape in most any width, down to 1mm. This Tesa tape doesn't seem to be available in such a variety of widths so I'm having to custom cut pieces. That's no problem if it does it's job. Spending a few extra minutes on the initial repair beats having to go back and re-adhere a corner that has raised up. So far, I have had no issues with corners raising up. I still use red tape in areas where 2mm is needed. It's a bit tough trying to cut the Tesa tape into strips that narrow. FWIW, the "raising up" issue is often due to the iPad corners being beat up more than I can fix completely or the body being bowed, causing pressure that might make a part of the touchscreen pull away from the metal. Some of those things really take a beating.

Great mounting tape with strong adhesion and very thin film that leaves practically no gap.
I use this tape to mount aluminum on baltic plywood.Pros:-very thin film, minimal gap perceived if at all.-much faster and cleaner than using Gorilla glue or similar glue.-strong adhesion as I tested one strip on aluminum / wood and 1/8 aluminum piece was totally bent when i was finally able to pry it off.Cons:-none perceived yet, but one can suppose that the tape would not resist as well as more permanent glue in the long run.

Quality Product
I have used the 1/4 inch double sided stuff, its is without peer. Don't try removing it though haha. I got this size for my husband for Christmas. I'm sure he'll be surprised because he says he's never been able to find it.

Tesa 4970 Double Sided Tape - Extremely pleased with this tape. I have been using it for years.
I have used this particular one-half inch tape for well over twenty years and it has been an excellent double sided tape. It holds items very well and the tape is relatively easy to remove - unless it has been adhered for several weeks. Small pieces of the tape work very well for holding a template used in routing. Subjecting it to heat will cause it to lose holding strength. An excellent shelf life, if kept in a cupboard out of the sun and heat.

This stuff is wicked strong and great for woodworking when holding down patterns while routing using a flush trim bit. It also works great for holding drawer fronts in place while installing. I use it very sparingly since it is so strong and I think this roll will last a long, long time.

Superb. Used to mount fine art prints/pictures for commercial sale.
Best double-side tape for serious mounting or weight-bearing. Better than typical 3M double-stick tape found at hardware stores. I use it for commercially for mounting heavier printsto supporting blocks. It is thinner than 3M, and white once yellow covering is removed.

Decent but not perfect
Decent double sided tape but if it gets a bit warm it comes off of whatever I've stuck with it. Can't use for hot weather times.

Love this stuff. for double stick tape, there isn't much on the market that's stronger. Price is too damn high!
