I purchased two of these in March. One of them had stopped responding to the remote just now which had me a little worried but swiftly resolved with a couple of button pushes as advised by tech support who replied within 24 hours. The colours are good, would be nice to be able to push the brightness a little more for in the day but at this price can't really grumble too much about that. I mostly have them on at night anyway. The remote is cheap and cheerful but for what you are paying is more that acceptable and providing you are not playing with it constantly every day should still last years. Mine are showing no sign of wear and all the LED's on the strips still good so far too.

I used this to put some lighting into our daughters fitted bedroom cabinet dressing table - easy to run a USB cable to where it was needed, the RF remote has good range and even works from outside the room (Radio Frequency instead of Infra Red doesn't need line of sight). The light is nice and bright and I hope I don't ever need to remove it as the adhesive backing seems very strong.

I was really skeptical about this product as there were mixed reviews. However 1) item was delivered ahead of EDD 2) it was really simple to put together 3) item looks pretty sturdy and of decent quality 4) no issues with the lights/ no faults 5) There were mixed reviews on the remote that colours weren’t matching the buttons, however all colours are working. The only fault on my remote is the brightness buttons don’t work. Ultimately a decent product for what you pay for especially if it’s the first time buying LED lights for your TV, 8/10 for me.

The lights are good but do not turn on and off with the TV

I've previously purchased a similar product (called Lightpak) which is a set of LED lights which go behind a TV or monitor to provide a dynamic backlight for the screen. However, despite owning that much more expensive product, I found that I was only using it for one purpose - to provide ambient back lighting of a single colour. So when I wanted to add a backlight to a second TV screen, I thought "sod it, I'm not paying through the nose again" and decided to look for cheaper options. That brings me to this product! Surprisingly cheap and surprisingly effective too. For something that costs "not a lot", it's actually pretty useful! I've got it wired up behind my screen through a USB port and it provides nice steady ambient lighting. I don't personally need the remote control as I'm happy to keep it a single colour but if you wanted to change between colours then the remote is perfectly adequate. Happy with these - they do what they say and they do it well.

Broke in 5 minutes of putting on the the back of the tv. The connection to the transformer type thing broke and stopped working. It had to be wiggled to work. I threw in the bin as I’m not having dodgy wiring on my kids tv!

Arrived very promptly. Easy to set up. Very sticky adhesive. However, there was an issue with the red LEDs so colours were restricted. I emailed the company, as per their note in the packaging, and after suggesting a fix which didn't work promptly sent a new replacement. No need to wait for faulty unit to be returned. I think the measure of customer service is what happens when things go wrong - as they do from time to time. And these guys went above and beyond.

I've been using 12V 5050 strips for years in PCs, but this is my first purchase of a 5V strip for use externally (and without any modding). I've previously used IR remotes and receivers, which require line of sight, whereas this is RF and therefore works happily when the receiver is hidden, in this case behind my monitors. The remote provides a choice of colour presets, brightness control and a few basic effects, along with power on and off. Some kits will include a larger 44 key remote which offers greater control, but this one's fine for creating some ambient lighting and setting a mood. These kits are pretty self explanatory but colour instructions are included should you want them, along with a spare battery for the remote.
