Actually Works!!
Yes, you can actually make marks on dark fabric that don't rub off. Great for laying out lines for quilting on dark fabrics. Chalk wears off and white pencils just don't work well for me.

The marker doe not work on fabric.
It did not work at all on fabric. I could get ink out using a very hard surface but none on any type of fabric.

Works well on dark fabric
This pen works very well on dark fabric. I am making a quilt out of dark batik fabric. The white marking shows up very well. Takes a few seconds but then it is clearly visible. So far it removes well with the heat from an iron. This is the second one I have bought and would buy again.

Works ok, but NOT water soluble — requires an iron to remove marks.
As others have said, you have to wait a bit after marking for the lines to show up — the ink has a chemical reaction to light and it’s not immediate, so give it a minute or so. My only complaint is that this is definitely NOT water soluble, and I bought this over other options specifically because my project couldn’t be ironed without first ripping out a lot of the stitching. I soaked it overnight in cool water, and then for over an hour in VERY hot (142 degrees) water, and the marks didn’t even fade. It did go mostly away once I ripped out the stitches and ironed it (I say mostly because since I knew where to look, I could see that it changed the fabric every so slightly on the lines — literally no one else could see it until I very carefully pointed it out to them; that’s not a problem for most projects, but worth mentioning) so I wouldn’t call it a bad product, but keep looking if you’re wanting water soluble white ink.

My absolute FAVORITE marking pen
IGNORE the bad reviews that say this pen doesn't work. I think those people just weren't patient enough. You have to give the "ink" a few seconds to dry before it turns white. I love this pen so much. The markings disappear after a good, hot steam from the iron. You don't have to wash it out like with the typical blue, water-soluable pens.

Worked Great on My Black Batik Fabric
When I ordered this pen, I thought I was ordering the Chaco marker, so when it came, I was a little disappointed. I decided to try it anyway, and used it to mark quilting lines on a very dark batik tote bag I am making. My eyes aren't the greatest, so I did go over the line a couple of times and had to wait for it to dry, but the lines were fine, didn't rub off as I was handling the project to quilt it, and came right out when I went over them with a hot iron. Some reviewers have complained that there isn't much ink in the pen, but since I just started using mine, I don't know yet. I make small projects like zipper pouches and tote bags, so a smaller amount of ink may not be a big problem for me. It ironed out easily and completely on a black batik fabric, so I will be using this pen for dark fabrics and my Frixion pens for light colors. Other reviewers mentioned refills for these, so I will be looking for them. I will rebuy this pen in the future and do recommend it.

Difficult to use, though technically works.
I got this pen in order to grid my black Aida for cross stitching. It technically works, but this pen has some serious flaws:1 - the ink takes a few minutes to show up. This is a huge problem when gridding because it makes it difficult to see where previous lines are unless you wait 5 minutes between each one. This makes the process take so much longer than it should.2 - I had to go over most of my lines multiple times, even after the ink showed up, in order to be able to see it well. Again, making the whole process tedious and lengthy.3 - the ink is inconsistent in how it comes out. It can be extremely liquidy which leads to smudging and/or poorly defined lines.Overall, while in the end I achieved my goal of gridding my black Aida, the process was so cumbersome and lengthy that I will be searching for a different product for my next project.

Only works on some fabrics
Marks just fine on some dark fabrics but not others.
