Glam Greats: 20 SEVENTIES STOMPERS
M**R
Remove Bay City Rollers & especially Mungo Jerry, add more Slade and it would be pretty near perfect
Pretty good with a few totally awful and not at all glam inclusions. If this was compiled by people too young to remember the 70's as I suspect, then I give you 7 out of 10 for trying. There were and are however far better and far more glam bands that could have replaced the truly dreadful Mungo Jerry and Rollers efforts including at least 8 more Slade number 1's and 2's, ditto about 6 for Sweet. As far as artists go why no Alice Cooper, Alvin Stardust, possibly even David Essex given those included and especially why not the New York Dolls? If any band epitomized glam at that time it was the Dolls with Sweet in hot pursuit. Anyway what you have are 20 selections from that eta, note I do not say hits because not all of them were. Artist inclusions are in the main Wizzard, Slade, Sweet, Mud, Showaddywaddy, Hello, Rubettes, aforementioned MG and BCR, Sparks, Glitter Band, T Rex, Suzi Quattro. Some have got 2 inclusions. If you skip the awful ones, or as I have, download from cd to computer to tablet just the ones you like and mix your own with Glam Greats 2 which is another follow on offering worth buying and of the same quality and artists you can have a really good album that takes you right back. There's worse out there believe me and this represents good value and some real classics which are heaps better than what is churned out now. It just could have been better. Oh happy days!1 T. Track Listing Hey Rock and Roll- Just For You.
This is a decent stab at getting 20 of the better Glam Rock Hits together on one CD at a really good price. All the usual suspects are here except the disgraced Gary Glitter of course. It's great to see Barry Blue included with his Do You wanna Dance and of course the excellent Sparks to end the disc. There are others some double but this is a cracker.Try taking a look at this one too. Best Glam Rock Album Ever However Amazon have not included a track listing which is essential if you are comparing which CDs to buy.So here it is.1 T. Not that ' Glam! '
Not a bad effort, but it's, supposedly, " Glam Rock ". Bay City Rollers? , Mungo Gerry? Good artists in their own genre, but they don't belong on this album. Rest of the tracks are a small slice of the glam rock period. There is of course, a huge amount of material from that time, which could be used. Look forward to seeing, and hearing, that on other albums.

Get your platforms on!
Get your platforms on and dig out the flares! Some great tracks to take you back to the 70's. T Rex, Slade, Sweet, Mud, Suzi Quatro. For understandable reasons Gary Glitter does not figure although the Glitterband do. A few weak tracks but overall a very good compilation.

Great
Good cross ection of songs from gthe era, okay so there's always going to be sometyhing missing and Gary Glitter's absence from both cds is farcical, albeit understandable. Would someone publish a book about WWII without mentioning Hitler because he did some naughty things? Ditto, Glitter was a key figure and should not have been omitted here, but that aside, just get yourslef lost in 20 tracks of quality nostalgia.
