Quality knife, sharp right out of the box, 4.5" blade with a machined square area on the back of the blade for the fire starter which is stored the handle. Fire starter is small but works well. the compass is accurate with the blade removed from the plastic sheath. The belt clip is stainless steel that snaps tight to your belt. This the knife to give your teenage hunter to go into the woods with. It's sharp enough and the right size to gut a deer, orange enough when he sets it down to find it again , a compass to help find his way out and and fire starter to keep him warm when he doesn't. The whistle is to small to be heard far. Has a diamond sharpener on the back of the sheath to keep it sharp. Put a bigger whistle on a lanyard and you've got a real winner. Use it to skin a 1000# steer, it stayed sharp skinning half of the steer, my son did the other side with a$65.00 pro skinning knife, I got it done just as fast as my son. Hit with a ceramic "steel" every few minute just like the pro knife, very impressed. I'm 73, my son is 40, i've got more practice, he's bigger and stronger.

ABSOLUTE JUNK! Didn't stay sharp whatsoever. The compass doesn't work bc the damn sheeth is magnetized. Tried to sharpen on a wheel and it completely disintegrated
