Totally viable alternative
I'm a GM Master Technician. I wanted to replace my mismatched home use ratchets with something American and high quality. I gave these a shot as a SnapOn alternative to save some money, I have those and use them professionally all day. They are that. In fact I actually think I prefer the handle to head and overall head design better, the taper makes it comfortable to choke all the way up if need be. Overall quality is on par with SnapOn. Where they "fall short" is they have less teeth (idk, 36 vs 80?). This does matter but the 36 tooth SnapOn ratchet was the standard for the guys that I learned the trade from and they got by just fine. They're probably stronger honestly. If you're a homeowner or a backyard guy, you'll pass these on to your kids or grand kids, tough as nails and you can feel the difference in weight and machining tolerances when you compare to other ratchets.

U.S. Made, quality tool at a fair price.
First and foremost, this is made in The USA. When it comes to tools you can not beat a good quality hand tool that is made in the USA. This Williams ratchet fits the bill. The feel, fit and finish are excellent. Although Williams does have some foreign made consumer grade tools, this ratchet is professional grade and as good as comparable Snap-On, Proto or Matco ratchets. For those who maybe considering a ratchet made in China, don't do it, you get what you pay for. I suggest you pay more and go for the quality. I highly recommend this tool. When possible, I support our American workers, everyone should!

Great ratchet. I mean it would have to be, its a snap on design. an older design with 36 tooth, but its tough.

Williams Ratchet
Extremely well made tool that will stand up to any task you throw at it. American made, beautiful finish and smooth mechanism. Feels good in the hand. Buy with confidence, and know it will still be functioning like new when your grandkids need help with their first cars.

Beefy ratchet
All in all this is a well built ratchet. I prefer a lock on the swivel part to keep the head from flexing like the Armstrong ratchet I have. I used it on a couple large lag bolts and this broke both in two! Great for the money all in all.

good product for the money and made in the USA
This is a good rachet an I like it very well, It would be better if it was a locking flex head after a little ware on it the head moves around a little more than I like, other than that this is a good product to have in your tool box.

It’s a snap-on
My all time favorite ratchet… only used for special occasions. It’s a snap-on when you are on a beer budget.

Quality
Great quality tool. Expensive but worth it

Seems to have a sturdy build and feels like it will last. Length of ratchet feels better compared to regular 1/2" drive ratchets I have, lower gearing as others mention. Worked well to access bolts for a brake job.

This ratchet is built well and even though it is and older style design it is still a snap on design thus making it high quality and it will last the test of time, overall well made will do the job great and aside from the lower tooth count this ratchet is perfect for the average joe

Works very well

Decent quality. Lower tooth count, Older (90’s-early 2000’s) snap on model. Still a great ratchet. Solid build, great value for money, highly recommend.

Bought a lot of Halfords advanced recently as found it to be the perfect middle ground between value and quality, however their range is a little limited and doesn’t have everything you need. When doing suspension work I found long flex head ratchets with the preset flex head positions are great but there’s always sometimes where you could just do with the head being in a position that the presets allow, which is where I found this. The build quality on this is ridiculously good, it’s heavy and a really sturdy bit of kit. It has the old snap on internals which are extremely well built with zero slop in the ratchet. Same goes for the flex, feels exceptionally well built with no flex. It is a bit of a dinosaur in that it has a low tooth count and the head isn’t slim profile as newer more modern style ratchets but I haven’t found this to be an issue yet. I’ve used it for suspension work mainly and it’s tanked through it all. No brainer for the price.
