Victorinox 3.25 Inch Swiss Classic Paring Knife with Straight Edge, Spear Point, Orange, 3.25" Paring

For years and years, I bought relatively inexpensive sets of steak knives and used them in place of paring knives (I was really cheap)! I thought the steak knives were good enough for most jobs --until I sprang for the black-handled Victorinox paring knife. The difference was nearly night and day! The Victorinox felt better in my hand, was easier to control while cutting, was sharper/created less peeling waste (food like apples didn't come off in chunks) and was simple to keep sharp with a quick slide through my mechanical knife sharpener. I liked it so much that I bought the orange-handled version (on sale), as well. And got rid of my dull steak knife substitutes! Woo-hoo!

I saw that America's test kitchen highly recommends the Victorinox chefs knife so I purchased several new knives from them. When I took this knife out and used it I was amazed at how sharp it was and how easily it went through fruit. I realized at that time I have never actually worked with a truly sharp knife. I have to use almost no pressure at all, very different experience from my old knives. So far, so good, and I will note how long it holds its sharpness and how well it sharpens.

I earn my living in a professional kitchen that had 1 never-sharp paring knife for 6 cooks to 'share'. I needed my own and they needed to be affordable. This product shows up on a lot of 'best paring knife' lists.I bought a set of 3 in pink so they'd be easy to find and no one would steal them. I also ordered knife guards for these so I could carry one in my chef's coat pocket.They work great and the set of 3 knives and guards cost less than $20. They were razor sharp out of the box. The only thing that I don't like is that they are stamped blades so no taper which makes them springy with significant flex and makes them hard to do tasks like yanking an onion skin off or plunging it into an apple to cut out the core. (That being said I am comparing them to my Henkels 4 star that I have had for 20 years and the handle fits my hand perfectly and is weighted and well balanced... it also has a stiff forged tapered blade and costs upwards of $60, and I would feel badly if it disappeared or was ruined at work.)Buy these. They work, they can be sharpened, they're affordable..... and they come in pretty colors!

Love this paring knife. Takes a super sharp edge on crock sticks. Now, I just want to buy all the colors.

I got this paring knife based off of a review by America's Test Kitchen, and it has lived up to their recommendation. The sharpest, handiest little knife, it's comfortable to hold, and so inexpensive! I can't believe I got such a great knife for so little: much better than the paring knife that came with my knife block.

I've used this pairing knife for virtually my entire cooking life. Indispensable in the kitchen.

I cook a full dinner every night. I’m cutting fruits and vegetables all the time. I love this little knife. One of the best knives l have in the kitchen. Lightweight, sharp! Goes through raw carrots, tomatoes and apples easily. I liked it so much l ordered a second one which l am saving for back up!

Like any other Victorninox knife these knifes are excellent, they're sharp as a razorblade and after 6 months of continuous they have barely lost some of their edge but they still retain excellent fantastic sharpness.

This little paring knife is top quality, and amazing value for the money. The blade is razor sharp and perfectly made. The molded handle is also above average quality, unlike some others where the molded halves don't quite line up and you get a sharp seam along the length of it. The blade is very thin and made for peeling, etc. The handle is a bit thin but also easy to hold and manoeuvre, so not a problem, just different from larger knives.The knife comes well wrapped in a bubble bag, with a sticker shield over the blade (i.e. once removed, it cannot be reused), so will have to have a proper way to store it after (as with most knives) to protect the blade.I've owned Victorinox products all my life, primarily their famous pocket knives, and I've always found the durability, quality of the product, and the steel used, to be impressive, far above average. I also have a couple other Victorinox kitchen knives, and am absolutely pleased with them in every way. I will definitely continue to buy this brand, and I highly recommend this knife, and their other products.

A Victorinox is hands down one of the best additions to your kitchen.

I ordered it to gift my brother who is an aspiring chef...just entered into the hotel industry after completing his culinary course. He was absolutely thrilled to have a victorinox knife in his collection of knife set...also the knife lived up to its standards as per its brand name...great product!
