So!!! Good!!!
I know I say this with every Robert Dugoni novel, but it's true!!!I SERIOUSLY thought I knew EXACTLY where one of the storylines was going, and had one new character pegged. And I HATED THEM!!!🤬But, OF COURSE!!!Robert COMPLETELY shocked me, threw in a crazy twist and turn of events and I ended up LIKING THEM!!!😳That is how I KNOW an author is uber talented and a genius!Looking forward to the next book!

wonderful
As I have written before, I discover Robert Dugoni late and I am so glad I did. (Even though his books are causing me to miss lots of sleep because I can't stop reading. Read his books, you won't be sorry.

very intriguing story, fast reading
All of the Crosswhite stories have more than one mystery going on and Dugoni is a master at weaving them together into one connected ending. This was a very entertaining and well written story. Well worth the reading time.

Another Winner
After being disappointed by the previous installment in this series, this book was a really good rebound. Both crimes that were being investigated were interesting. The story of what happened to Kavita went in a totally different direction than I expected. Tracy’s usual tenacity was needed to reveal that truth. I’m glad that this book dug deeper into Fazzio’s storyline. The plot following Little Jimmy and his gang was a little convoluted, but entertaining. It was nice to see Tracy and Dan’s love story progress a little more. I’m looking forward to seeing Tracy balancing work and motherhood.

A Steep Price by Robert Dugoni
I truly enjoyed the friendship of the A team. The mystery was a page turner. There was a lot of wondering how this was going to turn out with quite a few chuckles because of Faz and Del's interactions with each other.

Well developed characters; Something new to learn
Two of the best aspects of this series is that the characters at two dimensional and we are always introduced to situations that broaden our knowledge of what goes on in the world outside our own lives. We've watched Del develop trust enough to embark on a serious relationship; Faz and his wife, Vera are now facing a personal health challenge but their son has successfully opened his restaurant and proposed to his girlfriend; Kins' marriage and love for his two boys help in the climax of this current case; and Tracy and Dan have a new baby girl continuing Tracy's path away from the tragedy of her sister's disappearance into a life of happiness and peace. As to new knowledge, this book introduces us to an Indian family and the culture that focuses on the arranged marriages of daughters so that they may take on the roles of wives, parents and caretakers of their husband's parents. This focus leaves no room for education or professional lives for these women. Also, we learn of a dating practice called sugar baby dating. Young women basically prostituting themselves to sugar daddies to gain the money necessary to advance themselves primarily as college students. These last two practices produce the case that Kins and Tracy find themselves trying to solve--the apparent disappearance of an Indian-American young woman struggling to pay for medical school as well as housing. Needless to say, it is not long before her body is found and a missing person case becomes a homicide.Meanwhile, Del and Faz are investigating the drive-by murder of a young mother who had become an activist in her community to rid it of the drugs and drug cartels that are making life nothing short of dangerous.Between the aforementioned strengths of the book and the police procedurals and mystery they hold, this book has depth as well as interest.

Mixed feelings on this one, but always love the series
I always like the unique aspects to the plots. And always hate the predictable Capt. Nolwalski as a villain. This book was light on him so more enjoyable.I would highly recommend this book.I felt it should be rated between 4 and 5. But c!last to 5.

Well researched
This is the 6th book in the Tracy Crosswhite series by author Robert Dugoni. This excellent series is getting stronger and stronger and this one proved to be the best yet. When a woman disappears, Detective Tracy Crosswhite is convinced this is no ordinary missing person case and her suspicions are confirmed when her body is discovered in an abandoned well, The woman was estranged from her family following a disagreement over an arranged marriage and had planned to attend graduate school. As well as investigating this far from easy case Tracy is hiding the secret that she is pregnant. And now her biggest fear seems to be coming true when a new detective arrives to replace her. Tracy’s colleague Vic Fazzio is about to take a fall after his investigation into the murder of a local community activist turns violent and leaves an invaluable witness dead. Two careers are on the line. And when more deadly secrets emerge, jobs might not be the only things at risk.I love this series, it so much more than a crime series and all the side issues and distractions make it a very entertaining read. Well researched plots and great characters are the strength to this series.

Another Gem
And yet another gem in this terrific series. I enjoy it so much (even though I get a bit left behind as I have to wait till the prices drop a bit first).....of the 6 there was only one I didn't give 5* to, which is really good going. It's nice to sit down and once more reacquaint myself with Tracy and her cohorts. Tracy doesn't really appear as much in this story, though. It doesn't matter, however, as it's good to concentrate on other members of the squad now and then. I knew from the dedication at the beginning that something awful was going to happen to someone in this story, and he did a great job in taking us along on that particular journey. I did find myself feeling as though I had homework set a few times, though, as he kept writing Spanish phrases and I had to keep getting them translated !! This and just one solitary missed-off apostrophe are my only gripes so presentation is also spot-on. I was interested to read that sunshine can destroy DNA. I had never known this before now and neither that the Medical Examiner usually makes death notifications there as opposed to the police, though that might only be in Washington State. This one had the nicest cover so far I've seen on his books. There were a few passages or remarks that I found very amusing in it, mostly in Faz's dealings with the local gangstas' !I did figure out "whodunnit" quickly on one of the parallel cases but that spoilt nothing about it. Makes a change for me to guess right, though, as it isn't usually the case. Another observation from me, and not only in regards to this set of books, is the times Americans refer to compass points, whereas I'd have said on the left or right-hand side of something, for example. They do it a great deal.....although I know my NESW I probably couldn't say at any given time that somebody went southwards or eastwards, for example, yet they seem to do it without thinking over there. I find that interesting.Once again this is a tremendous thriller and the series is great and I highly recommend this author.

Absolutely superb
Wow! This book is terrific. I have read 5 of Robert Dugoni’s books and have never been disappointed. He really gets to the hearts of his characters. This was definitely a ‘cracker’. The storyline was heartwarming as well as in some cases quite sad. It’s ending kept you on your toes, wondering who the perpetrator of this dreadful crime was. Some readers may form their own opinions, I had mine.Without a doubt, this book is well worth reading. So enjoy. I can’t praise RD enough. Well done. I will definitely read more of his books. Please more of the characters, Tracy, Kins, Faz and Del. I feel as if I know them.

great story
Wow. Another fast paced and dynamic story in this ongoing series. I love these characters and each book brings us more into not just their jobs but their personal lives now too. So happy the way this book ended was absolutely perfect. Great narration too
