Best price I could find anywhere.
I like how this works. I bought it for my daughter because as a young wife and mother she won't spend this kind of money on herself. Good things aren't cheap and cheap things aren't good.

I only use the Gelish base and top coat, then regular polish; the perfect solution.
So, I now only use the Gelish base (foundation) and top coat (top it off) with regular nail polish and it's a great solution. I thought one day "why not just make my nails harder and then use regular polish" So, I put on the foundation coat, cure it. Then I put on a layer of "top it off" and cure it. I wipe off the top coat with an alcohol wipe, and now have hard, clear, shiny nails. I am very careful to not get near my cuticles at all (which is easy because it is clear--if it isn't perfectly even, it doesn't matter). I then just use regular nail polish as usual--two standard polish color layers directly on the Gelish layers and your favorite regular top coat. My "regular" manicure lasts twice as long as when I didn't have the Gelish bast and top coat. I think it is because my nails do not bend. And I'm on the computer all day long. When I want to change the color or it chips, I just use non acetone remover to remove the regular polish and the Gelish stays untouched, shiny and fine. I then just reapply regular nail polish over the Gelish which still looks great. Because the Gelish portion of the manicure is perfectly clear, you can't see it "growing out", so you don't have to remove it anywhere near as often as when you use the Gelish color. I sometimes add another "top it off" layer when it starts to grow out and cure it and then apply polish. Because it is clear, applying it is a piece of cake and if you make a mistake with the regular nail polish, you just remove it with non acetone polish and redo. If you get a chip, you can quickly fix that one nail as you would with a regular manicure.I know many have done what is called a "Gelish sandwich", using regular polish between the "foundation" and "top it off", but to me, this only allows you more colors, it doesn't simplify your life like my system does. Try it. Yes, you will have to wait for your polish to dry, but you will only have to remove the Gelish layer every 3-4 weeks and that is SO much better for your nails. I'm on week 3 of my Gelish base and it's fine.Hard, beautiful nails, unlimited color choices, easy application.I'm in nail heaven.

Beautiful shine and works like a charm.
I used this for the first time to go with the Gelish beauty and the beast gel polishes. I had read on the beauty and the beast bottle that you needed a base coat for gel nails (didn't know this!) so I bought this product. It works great! It's held my gel polish down, no chips, and is just awesome. It did say LED cure time was 30 seconds, but I found that a minute worked better. Also a little hint, the top coat glows under the LED light so you can see if you missed a spot or not. It was a bit thick both the base and top coat but I learned how to get most of it off the brush in the bottle to keep the coats thin. This has worked so well and my nails are stunning. The top coat is super shiny and is a heavy duty top coat. I absolutely love this set and will use it from now on!

My favorite Foundation & Top Sealer for Gel nails
I do my own gel manicures at home. Saves me a lot of money. This has been my favorite line of Foundation & Top Sealer since I started doing my own. I do a much better job that holds up longer than when I do it at the salon and this product is part of the reason.

13 years and counting
I’ve been using Gelish since at least 2011 - I’ve used other brands too, with mixed results, but I’ve never gotten mixed results from Gelish Polish - always good coverage, long lasting, and I feel lucky that I’ve never any kind of allergy issue!

Has the Formula Changed?
I have always preferred Gelish foundation polish to any others I have tried. I also have liked the Gelish Top it Off because it lasts. Well...it used to anyway.I still have some of my Gelish left over from my last purchase (about 2 years ago). Hmmm, it does not seem to act the same. In my recent purchase, the foundation coat doesn't seem to "stick" as well as my previous bottle. The top coat is nice and glossy, but it seems like it's chipping easier.I have not changed anything else -- still using the same LED lights, the same primer, etc. So either I got an off bottle, or the formula has changed somewhat. With all the no-wipe topcoats out there (and I have a lot of them), I find myself struggling to find an old-fashioned "wipe" topcoat for some designs. Gelish still has the best "wipe" topcoat, but it's not as good as some of my no-wipe topcoats.I'm giving this 4 stars because the topcoat is still best in its class as far as I am concerned. But while Gelish had previously been 5-star for me, it's slipped a notch with these latest bottles.
