Nice antenna.
This is a really nice antenna. I have mine mounted on a tripod. I live in a rural area but hitting repeaters 20-30 miles away is easy with this antenna. I’m looking forward to using it this spring and summer. Very happy with purchase.

It's bigger than it looks but works perfectly
Even the creator of the Alaskan says this may be longer than you need and weigh that against holding it for 30 minutes with one hand. I opted for the higher gain (don't we all) and yep it's heavy. Many photos show it on a large tripod and that's where I'm going with this antenna. I really enjoy the quality of construction and the ease of assembly. I also suggest the custom made carrying case if you are heading out further than the back yard.

Nice portable & light weight antenna with a very nice DB gain, Vswr trimmed out very nicely on both bands as well !
