No Dyson but still a quality product
Just received today and immediately got to cleaning.-nice and light weight-good suction-good amount of attachments-can be used as a stick vacuum or handheldOverall I'm very pleased. It's not Dyson but I got it for $200 and am thrilled with the value and performance. Comes apart and stores nicely. Battery seems to charge fast and filters are easy to remove and clean.

Excellent vacuum for in-between using my Miele canister vacuum.
This is a well-made stick vacuum. It stands up perfectly by itself. The cord is very long. It picks up dog hair and dirt like nothing I’ve ever seen. It does not clog, and is easy to empty each time I use it. I tried to go with the Shark Rocket, but most Shark stick vacuums don’t stand up by themselves, and that did not work for me. I am 71 years old, and it is lightweight and very easy to push and take from room to room. It is worth the extra money. It’s ridiculous to have a vacuum that won’t stand up on its own, this one is very sturdy.

SOLD on First Use! Amazing!
1/16/2025 Update: Yes, my title says "SOLD",...but now with one caveat. Aftre months of use, my opinion of this vacuum is still very high and all I wrote is accurate. The ONE caviat is that the cord is STIFF! I read all the reviews and a number of them indicted the cord was stiff, but I thought how stiff can it be with a bit of doubt. Well now months later, it's stiff to the point of being a pain in the backside! I think Shark could have done better making this a perfect stick vacuum IMHO. One might say shoulda bought a rechargable. Perhaps, but when you want it to run for a few hours and not worry about recharging, this was the right choice. Anyway, buyer beware. It's good, but the cord is STIFF!We've had a Hoover up-right for years. About two years ago, I purchcased a Shark Rocket vacuum. It was great for quicky vacuum jobs and even on carpet. This POWERDETECT is simply amazing! I was anxious to use it right out of the box which I did. All I can say, it is worth every penny AND SOME.What's to Love: 1) It simply works!; 2) It's lightweight. Some reviews indicated that it's heavy. I disagree completely. It's actually lighter than my Rocket.; 3) Some reviews indicate the oderizer is overpowering. My spouse is very sensitive to odors of any kind, and this is not over powering whatsoever. I'll admit some may have an ultra sensitive sense of smell, but this isn't at all bad.; 4) My Rocket pushes stuff around when you vacuum over it backwards. This POWERDETECT does not. This vacuum picks up small dirt items going fowards and backwards.Minor Detractors: 1) One "minor" detractor I might have about this vacuum is that it works so well, that the dirt and debris holder fills rather quickly. If you have pets and only vacuum about once a week, it will grab up dirt and hair at a rate such that you'll have to empty the container somewhat often. We have two dogs that shed fairly heavily so I can pick up enough hair in a 12'x12' (depending upon the room the dogs tend to say in) area that you may end up emptying the debris trap somewhat often. For me, this isn't a problem. The trap is very easily removable and empties in a minute.; 2) Some reviews mention the power cord is stiff. This is true. However, I assume that it's likely that way in order to last a long time and to tolerate a bit of abuse. NOTE: I chose a corded only because that's what I'm used to so it isn't a big deal to me. I read some reviews about the rechargable cordless vacuums that complained about usage time due to battery drain. Personally, I didn't want to deal with that.Summary: All I can say is that I love this vacuum. I've never owned a Dyson, but have heard great things. However, for the money, I can't imagine the "D" vacuum being all that much better. If you're researching stick vacuums, this is one to consider. Hope this helps.

Lightweight and Powerful
The Shark POWERDETECT Ultralight corded vacuum is a very welcomed addition to our household. Assembly was incredibly easy; less than 2 minutes to put it together and I was zipping around our home with ease. For the record, we have all hard surface flooring with area rugs. This vacuum performs equally well on all surfaces and I love the POWERDETECT as it’s no longer necessary to switch modes from hard surface to carpet! The long cord allows me to move from room to room without having to change outlets, which is a real timesaver. I had originally considered a cordless version but this model won out since so many concerns were expressed referencing battery life issues. The unit itself is very compact, is freestanding and so versatile with the included tools! I used the hand tool along with the Pet Powered Brush to vacuum our spiral staircase steps, which are carpeted, in a fraction of the time it took using our Shark Liftaway vacuum. No more battles with trying to hang on to the canister and stretching the vac hose around the configuration! I’m certain this will do a great job on our auto interiors as well. This is a great model with simple to use controls, bagless, easy empty debris cup, easy maintenance filters, self-cleaning brush roll, and the added benefit of Odor Neutralizer Technology! Don’t hesitate to make the investment! Im thrilled with my purchase!

Perfect for my needs
This machine gets excellent reviews for a reason: it is a great vacuum! I was looking for something I could easily pull in and out of a spare room to vacuum a room or two or occasionally deep clean after my robot vacuum runs. I’m disabled, so it was very important for the machine to be lightweight and this one is light enough that I can do a couple rooms without getting too tired. If you are more able-bodied, you could do a whole floor or two without needing to empty the dust cup; I only empty mine once or twice a month.I chose this corded vacuum so I wouldn’t have to worry about battery life declining over time or forgetting to charge the machine. My dad vacuumed over the cord one time and ripped a small portion of the casing off (not exactly sure how, but it’s still working fine with a bit of electrical tape covering the wires), but besides that it’s been durable. It comes with great attachment options. I have used the narrow rectangular attachment a lot to get kitty litter from the corners of a room and just underneath the washer and dryer. I’ve also used the small attachment with felt to vacuum cat fur off my couch and it works great; I hardly ever have to pull clumps off first. The anti-wrap roll does work pretty well; I’ve had this vacuum for 3-4 months and only had to manually pull hair off of it once. I typically use it to vacuum one room plus a hall once or twice a week. I have long hair and I have one long-haired cat and a short-haired cat, so it’s a fair amount of hair and fur.
