I thought this was a great idea when I saw it, however it became unusable almost immediately. The design will almost always lead to certain failure because of the high center of gravity and the very under-engineered vertical gooseneck.The lowest inner support of this goose neck is a pin sized metal shaft which snapped quickly as I tightened the cup holder screw adjustment. I was not exerting a lot of force as I realize with plastic parts you can not gorilla things together. It still snapped quite easily.So I was quickly left with two options: Return it or re-engineer it. Because this item is very inexpensive, I decided to keep the product and make it usable. So I got a two-part epoxy with a 20 min. setup time and glued the gooseneck to the base. By doing this, I lost the ability to tighten the base into the cupholder. But about two seconds of wrapping black heavy gorilla tape around the base (to fit my cupholder diameter) and I now have a completely usable product. I actually love it to be honest. It looks exactly as it should, you could never tell there was a problem. So I gave a few stars for a good idea. Honestly, for the price I paid was not expecting something constructed by NASA.

UPDATE: Bottom part that tightens into cup holder no longer grips. UGHHH. So phone falls over or is loose. Lasted maybe 2 months.Finally....i found this after having literally spent like $100 on different kinds of holders...all because mini cooper has awkward vents AND awkward cup holders. So this extra long neck and magnet is PERF. Why? The magnet part is unobtrusive and the extra long neck fit perfectly in the otherwise useless cupholder. I have a 1st gen mini so this works, im happy.

Mine did not come with the metal plates! Useless with out them. And it did not stay put in my '17 Infiniti Q50's cupholder. I'm sure it works fine with some cupholders, but not in the Q50. It did seem like a well made product though. Returned mine; I'll go with a suction mount instead.**UPDATE**Newward saw my negative review and offered to send me one of their other mounts free of charge! The new suction mount they sent works great! Still not a fan of this product, but the replacement works well. Great customer service!

Overall its 'ok' for the money paid. The flexible neck assembly is not attached firmly to the base...its a little sloppy. Even after disassembly to see if improvements could be made, the design of the attachment point to the base is a could-have-been-better assembly design that cannot be improved upon as-is.But for the cost and simplicity, it works for its intended purpose. The long adjustable neck does allow infinite adjustability.

Like the positioning of the holder. Magnet attachment is really convenient. The suction cup that sticks the post to the base falls off sometimes and after doesn’t stick as well, not sure if it wears out or just not as clean as new. It takes up a cupholder so you do miss the extra cupholder for change and other stuff, especially when you have another passenger with a drink.

I like this is a nice tall solid piece fits well into the cup holder with a good hold haven't had any issues with adherence between the magnet and the phone plate so far it's okay

Very easy to install and the magnet is strong, and it hold the phone great. Plus I like the mobility of the arm to move the phone around. Recommend

I have a portable console on the floor of my truck and the holder fits perfectly in it. It's in a good position for my hand to reach it for those few times I need to touch it and it's low enough that I rarely look at it while driving. My one concern is I have a thick phone case and wish the magnet was a little stronger but it's still been holding it pretty securely.
