I was going to buy something cheaper but I ended up paying about $700 extra and going with this because we do some gaming. I don't use the included Android TV dongle, so this review is not relevant on that front. This is installed in a dedicated movie room receiving a signal from an Dolby Atmos receiver. We have an Xbox, a Switch, and main TV is supplied by a Google Chromecast. Interestingly, the Chromecast supplies a 4k signal no matter what the native quality is, so it always runs in 4k unless we are on a game. We really love this projector, it is so bright, we run it on eco mode all the time, and it's still bright enough to watch with the limited lighting on in the room. The picture is crisp, and with the vertical adjustment, it is really easy to get installed without using Keystone which reduces performance. We have it mounted on the ceiling. It starts up very quickly, however, with the connection it needs to make to the Chromecast, it's not really much faster than our old bulb-type projector, in the long run. It's just usable at full brightness faster. What I'm saying is, it starts up fast, but takes the same amount of time to connect. It does occasionally lose signal, but I cannot confirm where the source of that issue is. It reconnects in 15-20 seconds. Happens every couple days or so, could be the long cables, could be a bad connection, I don't know. It's not a major issue, and hasn't happened while gaming, only movies, so it may be a 4k transmission issue. It's very quiet. It is large for a projector in my experience, the box is about twice as large as our former projector. As for the value, I think it was worth it, I'm glad I bought it. That being said, I don't know how the other one I would have bought would have compared. I wish there were a few more settings like our old projector, but we haven't really needed to adjust anything. Maybe it's not the most perfect real life accurate color, but it's bright and vivid and awesome for watching movies and shows. And it seems like it makes Rocket League more responsive, that may be the low latency, I don't know, I'm not an expert. Very happy with this purchase, would buy again.

Great Portable Gaming Projector! The X300G is definitely worth the price, It’s compact and convenient for when I travel to visit family or go to a friends house. I also like how I don’t need a projector screen to get a crisp clear bright picture, I can put the projector anywhere and just watch or game whatever I want. I can use it with the lights on and off which is convenient because I we use it in the living room and sometimes we need the light on. Gaming wise, considering the small size packs a big punch and the displayed screen size is the same as other more expensive projectors but a lot more cost effective. It’s also perfect for when my friends come over, because it is short throw, I can literally just remove a painting on the wall and have an instant screen. (see attached picture) I was concerned with the lag speed and how it would affect us playing it but in all honesty I didn’t notice any lag from my controller when I was playing, it’s basically lag free in my opinion. It has auto focus so I don’t spend time messing with the projector to get the image nice and crisp, it does it for me which is a plus. I haven’t tried all the game modes but was excited to see it has FPS, RPG and SPG, it also knows which gaming console I’m using automatically which is so cool so I don’t have to mess with anything to get the best setting for it. The sound for this little projector also is surprisingly loud and clear, didn’t expect that but here we are, not only did I save on not buying a projector screen I don’t have to buy a external speaker too. Also, it’s really cute and little so just having it there chillin’ on my table doesn’t make it an eye sore at all. It also comes with Android TV and has Netflix pre-installed so all I had to do was sign in and I was able to watch TV too. This has probably been one of the best investments I’ve made.

The video should speak for itself. I’m using a cheap pull down projector screen, the projector is only 10ft away, and the room isn’t pitch black. It looks phenomenal. The colors, the brightness, the sharpness, the contrast - it’s as good as my $4000 Samsung QLED TV, and it could get even better with a higher quality projector screen. I haven’t tried gaming on it yet, but I’m confident it’ll hold up well. Only downside is that the remote control/Android TV is quite slow, but I’m going to hook up my Apple TV which should speed up content browsing. I recommend asking ChatGPT for help getting the right projector for your screen size and throw distance. This projector works perfectly for me, but may not for you. I’m going to sleep with these rain videos up every night.

I purchased this projector because another BenQ projector I bought had a malfunctioning Type C port. This part of the X300g works, but it seems to have a mainboard issue. It won't turn off as seen in the video. I purchased an X3100i to hopefully be done with all this, but I'm starting to lose faith in the brand.

Great picture quality. More than Bright enough. Very easy to use. Speaker is good enough. Having a streaming stick built in is worth it. You can use this projector without plugging anything else into it which is ideal. Small enough to be portable, and with the speaker and streaming stick, its perfect for outdoor use (within WIFI range).
