I gave these a 5 star rating because I love them.For those of you into crafting, these are fantastic to stain, paint, or just decorate.The quality of the wood is good and and wood stain is soaks in well. The only thing I will say is, if you're going to paint them, be careful because too much paint can affect how they slide.Value for money? They certainly are. You can use them as trinket boxes, gift boxes, or even sweet boxes.

Ideal for decorating in your own way. Would make a nice gift if you are artistic & want to decorate it to match the receiver. Good price & nicely put together.

I like the box but the finished hinges and closing mechanism was not good quality. It's as if old pieces were fixed on as they showed a little corrosion and marked as if they had been taken from something else and put on. The box itself, was ideal for my purpose in so far as I needed such a box for a product I am making and wanting to sell in such a box. Because the hinges and closing mechanism were poor quality I would need to change these parts for the box to be presented as something new. That's not great considering I will need to buy those parts as extra. Since I need a quantity of these boxes I am not sure I can trust the quality enough to buy more. Otherwise the box was great. It is made of a light wood so as the wood isn't so thick it will not be sturdy for heavy items but it is ideal for my purpose and any light use. It could be finished with a varnish for anyone wanting to create a decorated finish but it would need to be rubbed down first. Again, it is all about purpose so for my purpose it is great... but for the hinges and closing mechanism. I took a photo but my photo quality isn't good enough to show the reality so I left that. If the maker had put new hinges etc. on the box I would have given it 5 stars all round.

The box is a nice size for what I want but the main issue is how thin the wood is - it feels like I'll break it if I more than lightly touch it. Hopefully as I'm using it for sewing accessories it will be fine

I use this item as a desk top storage box. I keep my National Trust and English heritage membership cards and bookmarks in, perfect item for this purpose would recommend. The process was excellent and the service was superb

Bought to use as a gift box. Did the job perfectly. Looks good and also could be decorated in any style you choose.

It isn't the most sturdy of items, but has proven great for what we are using it for, and handy that it has the latch.

Bought this so that I could customise it for a gift. The wood is very lightweight and dry. Used a few coats of wood stain, then sanded and then waxed it.Bought some baize and put this on the inserts, bottom and lid.Also bought some lazer cut names painted them and glued to the front of the box.Money wise you might be better paying a bit more for a better quality build or type of wood but I wanted a project to make as presents for my neices aged 7 and 9.They loved them. I used an oak stain and the colour was lovely.
