Very Realistic and Customizable
This is a great product for someone who wants to practice target shooting or just have fun plinking. I can usually get 6-7 magazines out of one set of CO2 cartridges, which is about 175 rounds. Very realistic in style and weight, love the quad rail for attachments.

So fun!
I got this as a Christmas gift and have only shot it enough to use 4 Co2 cylinders, but the fun factor is off the charts! It's not a target rifle but for plinking and full auto fun... It's great. The red dot works fine. I can refill the magazine at least 3, maybe 4 times before running low on Co2. The trigger has a pretty hard pull, but maybe it will get better over time.. The Crosman R1 is pretty darn realistic looking and if you didn't know it was an air rifle you'd think it was a "real" AR-15 with a short barrel. It's not light weight and feels solid, the charging handle works just like a real AR, the safety/selector switch works just like the one on a real select fire AR (3 position), the bolt release, magazine release, and ejection port cover function just like a real AR. The stock it's self is realistic and is adjustable to 6 positions, but the buffer tube is not exactly the same as a real one. Even the take down pins work like on a real AR, except the front one can be pushed all the way out, unlike on a real AR. The only thing not functional is the forward assist button. A few tips.. Put a drop of Crosman pellgun oil on the seals of the cylinders before you install them. Don't over tighten the screws after you break the seals on the cylinders. Don't leave cylinders in the magazine for long periods of time when you're not shooting the rifle. Remove them when you're done shooting (use them up before removing them). Don't expect to shoot Aspirin sized targets at 30', but it will shred aluminum pop cans! You might want to lube the BB loader with a shot of silicone spray lube to make if function easier. It truly is about as much fun as you can have without going through the huge hassle of a BATF check, the HUGE expense of a transferable full-auto weapon, and the outrageous cost of ammo these days. The cost of BB's and Co2 is small, but the fun is HUGE!!! I've added a picatinny mounted front sling swivel and a tactical sling from Amazon. I had the vertical for grip with a flashlight left over from my days as a LEO...

Great product!
I still have mine nearly a year later. I just love it! I wish magazines could be bought individually, and at a good price, however. The full auto mode is slow enough of a fire rate to be controlled, yet still fast enough to be fun and effective! Having the rail system is really cool and allows many different attachments! The red dot optic that it comes with is easily zeroed in and holds zero!

Wow.
What a fun gun. I’m 50 plus and felt like a kid again. LoL. My grandkids and I have so much fun with this little gun. Even my guys at work loved it. Shoots good and no jams. I’m wanting to take it squirrel hunting and put them on the run. Lol

Dayyummmm this is fun!
Only one complaint...really, just one. Would love to have a mag that holds a LOT more (sorry California, get over it). I've added a bipod (why not) and a red dot (because I could)... both fit perfectly and this thing shoots straight for what it is. Pretty much destroyed my neighbors plastic flamingo yard ornaments... too fun! Enough about me...even the kids are enjoying it. Good, light weight bb gun to teach with before the real thing. Did I mention it's fun? For a recommendation, buy the BIG jar of bb's and a few extra gas cannisters, you'll be glad you did. **Update - you'll want these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000HKKY7M?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GA8RP3G?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

Super fun! Still works like new.
I got my rifle today after reading reviews and watching a few videos about it. Some of the reviews I read had me concerned. Maybe it’s the luck of the draw but mine ran flawlessly. I did research it thoroughly and have to say that the Crosman oil and common sense maintenance is probably a big part of proper operation. Anyway I love it and it’s underrated as far as I’m concerned for the price. Good practice if you have an AR. I’m writing this two months after my first review. Mine works as well as when I got it. I do maintain it and swear by the Crosman oil. Mine rips soda cans, loads quickly with the loader and has a greater range than I thought 430 FPS would deliver. It’s the same. Receiver and internals as the Sig and Bushmaster so definitely a good bargain.

HORRIBLE! Upper to Lower hinge point so sloppy, whole upper "jiggled" and twisted on the frame!
This had to have been a "Friday" made example from Taiwan! HORRIBLE! Upper to Lower forward hinge point was so sloppy (the hole was an OVAL!), the whole upper "jiggled" and twisted on the frame like a rubber band!! Also something screwy in the barrel, when I used a Bore Laser Sighting Tool the barrel aimed to the left and down 20 MOA (minutes of angle) for the inline of the upper!! I couldn't even sight in using real Iron Sights from an AR15! Shot groups were non-existent, all over the place, mostly OFF a 8"x8" target at a regulation 33 feet! It would also occasionally do a 2 to 4 BB Full Auto Burst with the Selector in ONE SHOT EACH PULL position!! I called Crosman CS and raised hell and sent the POS back to Crosman in NY, and they are promising a "NEW" one in the retail box in TWO WEEKS! I had to pay to send it back via UPS at $26 Bucks! This was a 2020 made R1 (there are not 2021 made as far as I've heard) so quality is going down! If the replacement is just as bad I'm raising hell with Amazon to get my money back.
