45058 Viair 450C IG Series 24V Air Compressor Kit CE

I bought this to run an airlift pump for my well using solar panels. It works great because the compressor matches the output of two 120 watt panels using a solar well pump controller designed to run a down hole solar powered well pump. The compressor pumps air down hole and the air bubbles lift the water up 150 feet. The compressor is designed for continuous operation, has no oil and uses Teflon compressor rings. It's a good design. I did however paint the head flat black to radiate heat better.

You do the math "100% Continuous Duty Cycle" = 1 hour, doesn't seem like continuous to me. I feel lied to "Max Tank Size = 5g", Because it runs Very Hot, and a tank bigger then that will shorten is lifespan... Assembled with One Drop of Ingersal Rand air-tool oil, never needs any additional oil... It is pretty loud, the vibration mounts are quite unimpressive/rudimentary, there is lots of room for improvement in that dept. Uses a weird JIC-6 flare fittings on the supplied SS hose The check valve does NOT unload at all, pressure in the hose must bleed back thru the compressor before the next start. They present this as a "Industrial Grade" unit , but with a price tag that only a corporation would tolerate replacing every 300hours. Why does this thing Not Have a Cooling Fan like all other compressors big and small? None of their DC compressors have cooling fans! They are designed to fail and be replaced frequently 300 Hours is Not Exceptable. Not for $440 This companies business is built on obfuscation and Lying By Omission
