Really good kit. The water in London is very hard, and I needed to test it to check if my filter was working. These strips are very useful, they’re easy to use .

As mentioned by someone else. the strips should not be placed under running water as the chemicals on the end of the stip that provide the reading can be washed off. Instead run the tap and fill a glass of water, then simply dip the end into the water; you will get an instant reading. Others have moaned about the colour chart and that it is difficult to discren some colour changes against the range printed. To be honest it is good enough for what you would use this for. If you are after a calibrated measurable device to measure water hardness then perhaps this is not for you.

Tested either side of a water softener the results were obvious and massively different (2-25) The tests are simple to use and easy to read. (Dip them in a clean container of water, or no more than dripping running water.) Excellent value.

I wanted to test the harveys water softener was spot on with the test and more reliable then the digital testers.

Providing the instructions are followed the strips react well and give accurate readings.

The product details that this only tests for calcium level change when it is not the only chemical that will affect the water hardness.

Kind of hard to see the exact value but at least I know my water softener is definitely working
