This was a great purchase!Kept the teenager busy for over a week. He was able to complete it by himself working on and off all Christmas break! Pieced are normal size. (Not micro) It comes with a very big step by step instruction book, each section is bagged separately. It has moving parts and lots of cool detail. Complete with dining area in the passenger cart and rail explosives, a shovel… rail vegetation… it’s pretty cool. Definitely worth the price we paid and quality is as good as the name brand competitor. A few pieces have accidentally come off… like when the dog ran over it… but overall holds together very well. Very happy with this purchase and will be looking for more.

Love this Funwhole train set! Highly detailed with lights and using quality GoBricks which are identical to Lego (but half the price). Pieces hold together well and the lighting kit really adds to the overall look, not to mention value. Lego should pay attention, they have gotten lazy and let creativity slide while prices continue to rise. I loved this set so much I bought the entire FunWhole Wild West collection, a theme Lego doesn’t even offer.

It was a ton of fun to build. I love how the lights were integrated into the build and were quite hidden. I loved all the details that were included in the set. I've seen some reviews about the quality being really good and comparable to Legos and I would agree they are really high quality. I would highly recommend anyone who's interested in buying this.

This train is beautiful put together and has a great amount of detail. However, I give the finished project a low score for these reasons: The design is weak underneath each car because not much holds the pieces on that have to be suspended on the underside. They fall off just picking up a car. Even just barely moving it on the track, pieces fall off. Secondly, The wiring runs from car to car and there is no way to separate the cars to move the train. If you try to repair one car, all the others start losing their parts, too, just from the wiring keeping them all attached. (Bad design). One wire broke because it was just not long enough to reach where it needed to go, so I Am trying to get a replacement from the company. No answer yet to my request for this because they are on vacation at the time. (EDIT: Since this review, THE COMPANY MAILED ME A NEW WIRING HARNESS AND THE MISSING WHEEL! I HAVE INCREASED THE STAR REVIEW DUE TO THE SELLER FOLLOWING THROUGH WITH MY REQUEST.) I have not seen this light up yet, only the engine. Thirdly, While trying to re-attach the hitch (which all three hitches fall off all the time) the 4th car(passenger car) completely fell apart, so now I will rebuild it. The other FunWhole kits I have built have been much better than the train. I am disappointed in the fall-apart aspect and wiring design of the train. And how do you move the train with 4 cars with only 2 hands from the table where it was built to another location? If I had known this, I would have acquired a long skinny board to build it upon, so I could then move it in one piece without disturbing any of it. The finished train is approximately 2-1/2 feet long. If you should purchase this kit, just be aware that the wires don't give any wiggle room, you must not have areas where there is excess wire unless the instructions in the manual specifically show you that.

So in the past i have bought A LOT of off brand LEGOs as i am a fanatic but cannot fathom paying some of the bloated prices for official LEGO items. Every single one of these other off brands have been, at best, OK, as i could get them at a much cheaper price but clearly the quality of instructions and bricks was lacking as most of these off brand models were so delicate that playing with them was out of the question and they were relegated to my display shelf only. However, this FUNWHOLE train set is out of this world, beyond perfect! Not only were the instructions incredibly clear and concise but the bricks themselves are LEGO equivalent (and it comes with lighting features). My 4 year old son has been playing with this train on the carpet (not even the train tracks), running it backwards and forwards and has yet to break any pieces off (and he breaks everything). If this were a LEGO set it would easily run well over $200 but an Amazon sale dropped this down to nearly $60!! Unbelievable, outstanding, and beyond impressive. I have already purchased a few more kits from FUNWHOLE and will be using them as my go-to LEGO source!!

This train is beautiful when built, but is very fragile. It is not meant to played with in the same way that other brick or lego trains can be. The directions are nicely put together and the pieces came in labeled bags. The train is beautiful when it is built and the lights are turned on. The only complaint is my son cannot really play with it. It falls apart to easily.

My son wanted a Lego train but the Lego city didn’t offer anything like this! It wasn’t hard to assemble but my son needed a little help to figure out the lights. When we were done we were both happy with the end result! Just wish it came with more tracks. Very cool and fun!
