I've been shaving with single bladed safety razors since my mid twenties when Gillette started selling the Fusion with its 14 blade cartridges. No matter what razor I tried I had always battled razor burn so I witched to an old school safety razor and safety a boatload of money and I haven't had razor burn in 20 years since. So why did I bother to by this? I have always used a Merkur safety razor (45c maybe? Too lazy to check) and kept 2 one in my shower at home and one in my toiletries bag ready for travel. When I dropped one a while back I needed to replace it so I figured I would try this instead. The first thing I noticed is how much lighter this aluminum razor is versus my Merkurs which are presumably steel. It's easily 75% lighter. Honestly that first impression was not a good one, heavier had to be better right?? Anyway after my first shave I was sold. It really does give you a much closer shave. I was shocked. Again, I have used these razors for 20 years. I know how well they work. (even the worst will give you a better shave than a cartridge razor!) I'm not somebody comparing this with no experience. I guess chalk one up to engineering and better geometry because it really is a super close shave. I've been using mine for a few weeks now and haven't even knicked myself. I haven't tried their blades as I'm still using the same brand I've always used - so the difference is purely the razor. If I manage to drop and break my other Merkur I will definitely buy another one of these. Seriously, if you're on the fence about this don't be. Personally I tend to never buy anything I see advertised online, particularly on social media, because it automatically makes me distrust it - but this really does live up to its hype and I'm quite glad I gave it a shot.

I am utterly shocked at just how well this razor works. I was skeptical like a lot of people probably were as I have seen this on TikTok every now and then and thought it was probably another fake-hype item. This is definitely not a fake item and it works better than any other razor I have used.I'm a big guy with a big face, and a bald head to shave every week. My hair also grows in multiple directions on my face and head, making it somewhat more of a challenge to accomplish a clean shave without going over the same spot from multiple directions. Let me tell you, this is one insane, precise, clean cutting razor that doesn't even irritate or slice my skin. I started slow on my skin at first because I was worried I'd cut myself like I did with many other single blade razors. After only a few swipes, I felt very comfortable handling the blade and wow does it cut close and clean. I did my entire head faster than my usual choice (Harry's 5-blade razor) and didn't cut myself once. For anyone who has ever used any other single blade razors, it is incredibly difficult to shave your entire head without peeling skin off.Overall this is worth every penny spent, especially knowing I won't need to ever buy a new one again. It cuts clean, precise, close and is very safe. Neat choice I've ever made (other than marrying my wife).

Super close, comfortable shave, with no nicks or scrapes. I'm using some extremely sharp Feather brand blades instead of theirs, no problem. The comfort and closeness levels exceed both my fixed and adjustable Merkur razors. For best results, first scrub your face with hot water, an exfoliating sponge and moisturizing bar soap. Then apply a nice, slick shave cream like Kiss My Face or Gillette Pure. If you need to go over a spot a few more times, simply keep it wet and you'll have no problems. I sort of wish this had a heavier, weighted handle, but there are probably some generic handles out there that will fit. This thing really does place the blade at exactly the right angle and depth, which I can certainly feel when using it. Thanks for a super product.

I seriously have to give props to this razor.I picked it up after trying out my brothers he purchased about a year ago and I absolutely love it, I've shaved with for the past couple of weeks and find it nearly impossible to cut myself if used properly.It provides a much closer shave than your regular plastic razors and has MUCH cheaper blades (2 bucks for a 10 pack at my local grocery store) and a single razor will last you like 10-15 good shaves.Switching out blades is nice and simple too, and it's as simple as once the blade starts to feel like it's tugging more than cutting your hairs, switch it out.

I am moving from a Viking "The Chieftain" razor, an excellent product which I have used for about five years. Due to the moving parts, this razor requires some oil to get it working smoothly.I decided to give this Henson razor a try. OMG. It's a leap ahead in performance. I've tried three different brands of blades so far with exactly the same perfect shave. So far I have been unable to scrape myself and always get an extremely smooth shave.I shave after a shower without cream while my face is still wet.I only have one issue with the razor. The razor is absolutely symmetric. It's beautiful. Unfortunately, due to the symmetry, there is no easy way to keep track of which side was last used. I have taken to laying the razor down on the side I want to use next.

Very nice and well made. I do have a few issues with hair getting stuck but it's not too bad. The blades that ship with it aren't the greatest quality but you can always get others so.

After 40 years of shaving with cartridge types, I (happily) switched to a safety-razor and chose the Henson, after reading a reviewers comment, stating how this model (precisely) holds the blade in place, alleviating the common "rattle" effect as all others have had. This fella said he had been using safety razors for some years too. It is absolutely precise and set to a 30 degree angle and is well worth the price, being manufactured by a Canadian aerospace parts manufacturer.
