Plenty! Have kneaded and whisked bowls full of stuff for up to 15 minutes a time. Wouldn't recommend you use it to mix cement though ....

Does the KitchenAid Artisan Mixer box come with a manual and description what is inside?

It does come with a big manual in lots of languages. there isn't much to describe what's inside the box. You get the stand mixer, paddle attachment, whisk attachment, dough hook and a pouring shield. When you register your machine with Kitchenaid, they will send you a lovely cook book.

I'm sorry, I've looked in my book at mine and from that I can only take a guess. the two numbers in my book MODEL 5KS45SS TILT-HEAD STAND MIXER and 5KSM150PS TILT-HEAD STAND MIXER the difference between these two models are one has the capacity of a 4.5 quart bowl and the other is a 5 quart bowl plus the 5 quart has a pouring shield. this is the only two things that I can see that are different as you say they look the same. I can only guess that these must be the newer models. I've had mine about 3 years and my book that goes with it was published in 2006.
