I LOVE THIS DEVICE!
OK, So like a few other people the connector was a "tiny" issue, and when I say "tiny" I mean "teeny-tiny, super small" issue. One email and it was corrected within two days. The ONLY thing I could say about the connector or the wiring is that it's a little fragile because of the placement which, would not have been any kind of issue AT ALL, if there was a tiny note that said "fragile connector be careful" or something. Like I said, it was a tiny issue, it was the ONLY issue and it was fixed within 2 days.I LOVE this device! The company was AWESOME as well. They replied to my email VERY QUICKLY and took care of me, above and beyond. If I had this device last year, I would have been able to see IN REAL TIME that my catalytic converters were giving out and I could have avoided getting stranded at the bottom of an overpass. This has a digital gauge that shows exactly how much gas I've got, letting me know that I can safely get to the better gas station a mile or so further down.It has custom color options for literally every component, from words, to numbers to headlines. Crystal clear HD and the ability to put it in a location where I don't have to take my eyes off the road to see speeds, rpms, intake temp, battery voltage etc is a game changer. There is literally nothing that it's missing, although my vehicle, (an acura) doesn't allow for reading of the fuel pressure, but I'm pretty sure that just a Honda thing, AND it's included on there anyway so, for anyone who isn't driving a Honda won't be an Issue.Yes, this one is a little more expensive than others, but I'm pretty sure it's got like a million more usable features than any of the others I've seen. It's very HD and it doesn't have any lags or any glitches, WHICH BTW, you can actually have set alarms, not presets that they think you can use but alarms that YOU can set, so if you feel like you might have an overheating issue, set an alarm, worries about your cats not burning hot enough, or burning too hot, set an alarm.Personally I am VERY pleased to have purchased this. I can say that I'm glad I invested a few extra dollars into this one over any of the others. Is it a perfect device? It's very, very close. If I could edit my own alarm sounds I might say yes. Go get yourself one of these, you'll be very glad you did!

Really good, but warnings/alarms are inadequate
This device was very easy to connect (just plug it in), and it mounts very securely to the dash. The range of parameters this device can read is impressive, but it will not read oil pressure on most vehicles. It measures oil temperature on my Mazda CX5, but not pressure. I had hoped it would read transmission parameters, but no such luck. The display is bright and clear, and it looks dignified enough for an adult's car. ;-)Here's what I don't like: The warnings/alarms are inadequate. First of all, you can't program an alarm for just any parameter. You only have a subset of the most important ones. I had hoped, for instance, to put an alarm on the trip meter, so that it would sound off when I had exceeded 5000 miles. This would be useful as a service reminder. However, I can't do that.Perhaps the bigger issue is that the alarm is too polite. If an engine parameter goes out of range (e.g. the engine overheats), a little brown rectangular window will appear in the lower right corner, and a faint "beep" will sound. The window stays there, but it would easy not to see if you weren't looking at the display, and the beep only sounds once (doesn't keep sounding). You could easily miss the beep if you're playing music, if someone's talking, or if you're driving a noisier car (e.g. my stock Miata).IMO, it would be very easy for the manufacturer to reprogram the thing to flash the screen solid white every second or so (or flash the background white), to grab the driver's attention. Also the non-GPS version of this unit has an alarm output, which would be useful on this unit too. (Some of us can build circuitry to use the outputs that are given to us.) And of course the unit could also have a (much) louder piezo buzzer that doesn't stop sounding until you tap the menu button. One day I might get around to tapping an output off of the internal piezo buzzer to trigger an alarm that I will actually notice. Finally, I would ask that the manufacturer consider a future modification of the 12-parameter screen that just shows numbers. I suggest displaying both a number and a simple bar that shows out-of-range limits. Make the limits programmable and alarmable (e.g. alarm when the gas tank is nearing empty). This way, it would be quick to see if everything is operating approximately within normal limits (just by observing the lengths of the bars). If a bar is too short or long, or has encroached into a red zone (perhaps with the bar changing color), then that would draw attention to the specific parameter that is out of range. This would be a very space-efficient and intuitive way to create an information-dense screen. And I have one unanswered question: Will this thing give me a polite, on-screen rectangular notice if my engine throws a code? I THINK the answer is "no," but I won't know until someday I get a check-engine light. All in all, this seems to be a better product than its competition, and it's certainly better to have one than not! I would definitely recommend it, but I'm not giving it a full 5 stars until the above issues are addressed.

It works. Clear codes and set customer PIDS for GM
The media could not be loaded. I got it to work. I see alot of low stars. That's because people don't follow directions. I love this device. Remember that you have to connect it to your laptop or computer. Follow the step by step instructions to download the update. I managed to get it to read some parameters. Not all of them work so you'll have to switch it to Big end 4 or little end 4? Definitely Bang for your buck.Nothing can compare. For GM turbo pressure it still needs playing around with as Only the manifold pressure is the only pid that is accurate thus for. A couple other boost pressure PiDs seem to not be ready or not ready properly. Im not seeing boost pounds pressure at the moment but I'll update this if i get it to read. IMPORTANT: GM PIDS ARE LOCATED IN THE CHOOSE OTHER SYSTEMS MENU. THE PIDS OR IN THE PID<DIR> THEY WILL BE LABELED-STD for standard and EXT. Other manufacturers will also be in the (CHOOSE SYSTEM) MENU.
