Warms the soul...
I am a Cecilia Ahern fan, although I have to admit for some reason I did not initially engage with this Cecelia Ahern novel in the way I normally do with her books. They all have a sense of whimsical meets reality about them but this is a particularly unusual story. In fact, you have to suspend belief somewhat to be truly swept up in this story - by the end I was mesermised.Laura, the lyrebird of the title is a young woman who has lived her life away from other people but is discovered by a documentary crew on a remote Irish farm. The documentary director, Bo, immediately sees a chance to follow up her previous success whilst the sound engineer, Solomon, can only see the beauty and uniqueness of Laura and he wants to protect that, there is an immediate connection between her and Solomon. The story revolves around Laura's ability to replicate sounds without really knowing how, or even that she is doing it at times. The crew find she has a fantastic talent and Bo, the director, sees a great opportunity for her next project, and encourages Laura to leave her secluded life and share her talent with the public. Balanced with some dramatic and sometimes comic moments the main character, Laura, is such an enthralling young woman. The book follows Laura's journey as she is exposed to the modern world and also explores her relationships, particularly Solomon, and the new life she is exposed to.. It is a thought provoking novel full of emotion, romance and magic. This is a novel that warms the soul. (I was gifted this book for Christmas - it was the perfect holiday read!)

interesting concept but a bit far fetched
She always writes a pleasant romantic story but this one for me was too far fetched, unrealistic and full of unnecessary decisions that restricted the natural paths of support and love. Happy ending :)

Loved it!
I love Cecelia Ahern's books! The only rotten part is when I finish, and realized I need to wait for her to write a new one! Her characters are believable and real, and the situations they get into make you think!

Absolutely lovely
A completely different story to all of the stories Cecial Ahern has ever written - as usual. No story is the same and that is what I really love about her style and writing. It is captivating and intersting, a bit magically, faboulas and fantastically but on the other hand also very realistic and true-to-life. I absolutely loved it!
