This one works, I have it fitted between my 300W solar panels charging two 12 v leisure batteries and the drive battery. This is in my camper conversion , once fully charges this trips and the charge from the solar goes through to my drive battery. I tried to save money and bought a cheaper version with out a volt display. I didn't know it failed for months when I got in to trouble with a flat. Never a slow start again with this fitted and easy to see it operable status at a glance

This is perfect for keeping your leisure battery charged from the alternator whilst not draining your car battery when the engine isn't running. Everything you need is in the box apart from tools. The instructions are easy to follow and should be fairly quick to fit. The display tells you all the info you need and LEDs show the current mode.

This battery isolator works as intended and was easy enough to install. The interface isn't the prettiest however I've tucked it away so aesthetics aren't really a contributing factor to my allocation of stars. Seems to be of descent enough quality and I'm overall happy enough with it.

I ordered the 'GEARCELL Smart Dual Battery Isolator, Auto/Manual Mode Voltage Sensitive Relay ' as I have a van that I am slowly converting to a camper.Though I do have a trickle charger that I use for the leisure battery I have not yet invested in a more complicated system nor upgraded to fitting any solar and this is my first dabble into a VSR.This is a solid unit and all of the electrics aside from the posts have a waterproof silicon coating, so should be pretty bullet proof now it's installed in the van.Installation is OK - once you have scratched your head for a bit. My one request from the manufacturers would be for an easier to follow set of instructions. I had all the required parts and materials to install, but it did take a fair bit to wrap my head around, including integrating the trickle charger into the mix.However - in essence. Both battery positives are connected to the VSR, negatives are connected to bodywork as normal as is the 'override wire' - you can attach a switch to the override wire if you wanted to have an easy way to stop the relayed switching. This unit works both ways, so when the leisure battery is charging it will open the relay to charge the starter battery when the required voltage is reached.Only things to note are that it is really important that you use a decent gauge wire between the positives (ideally with an inline fuse) and that you plan your cable runs so that they are not going to be pinched or trapped.Once I got my head around this I think this is a really great unit but it could definitely benefit from better instructions - maybe even a couple of photos of an install guide. I have not included any photos of my build as I am not a qualified auto electrician. Once I have tested extensively and have wired it properly (permanently) I will include install photos.
