The Memory Tree Paperback – Picture Book, November 25, 2014

Bought for my almost 5 year old when her papaw died. Wonderful book that helped make the process easier for her. She started telling her memories as soon as we finished the book

Simple, easy to understand, and good for toddlers to learn about grief and loss.

As an Elementary School Counselor, I love this book to read to students who have lost someone. I also enjoy that there is no references to any afterlife or heaven, so I can read this to any student no matter their religious background. It is a very sweet and heartwarming story to help children understand how they ca continue to remember someone after they have passed.

I bought this book for my two cousins ages 4 and 8 who had recently lost their first dog. The book does an amazing job to explain that our loved ones remain with us always and are never really gone. Its a moving story perfect for kids to read. Definitely a book I would recommend to anyone who is going through loss (both person or pet).

After a significant death happened before our child was born, we purchases this book as a gift for their first Christmas. We love the story, and have written a note about our lost loved ones. It has a great message about death.

This book is beautiful inside and out. The story is perfect for little ones and parents. So simply and full of love, it explains how our beloved ones don’t really leave, they will always be here with us. I recommend it for little readers 3 years +

Bought this book to try to talk about the topic of a grandparent who had passed away to my 3 1/2 year old. I chose this book over others as I felt it was better suited to her age and liked that it didn’t focus on death but more on remembrance. The story is very appropriate and tells it in a way she understands. The pictures are also lovely. She likes to see at the end of the story the other animals using fox’s tree as their home and so fox lives on forever. She regularly talks about how her grandad will live on in her memory like the fox and she regularly asks for it to be read to her so I know this book was the right choice.
