Mine didn't fail right out of the box like others say.
Installed on 2003 Silverado 2500 HD 6.0 Gas engine. It installed easy enough. I know the reviews were saying it either worked perfect or failed immediately. I would say I got a good one I guess. I installed it and I didn't develop any new issues right away like others have. I did not get a code for the sensor at all. I checked the local auto stores and AC delco parts and they all get the same reviews. Either worked perfect or failed out of the box. For the price I figured I could buy a couple of these before buying the higher priced one that fails just as often. I would say for the money it is worth trying.

Works Great on Fresh LS Rebuild
I'm not sure what I would be writing if it DIDN'T work. Just finished a Gen III LS engine rebuild 500 miles ago - everything works great, including this cam sensor.

Oring maybe to big
Good match to the oem part. Only issues was when I was installing it i didn't have it all the way down before tighting the bolt and bent the metal bracket. So I ended up not using it. The oring may have been to big.

Hold off!
NOT worth the gamble. Unfortunately at the moment there seems to be a real shortage Nationwide of genuine GM/AC Delco parts. I gambled and bought this one because it had the highest reviews of all the foreign knockoff ones (my only option at the time). The sensor is just not designed for calibrated like an oem one is. In my situation I had extended cranking in the backfire on first try, on the 2nd attempt to cranking it over it would fire right up. However the engine ran a bit different, could definitely hear the mild truck cam I have in my 5.3. Kinda cool but Definitely not worth the fact that it would always take two attempts starting the truck and knowing it (the sensor) wasn't designed quite right. For the short day or so I ran it it never did show any pending codes or stored codes (no CEL) again, knowing it wasn't right meant I was taking it out asap. Unfortunately right now (Sep 2025) the best thing you can do is go to your local Pick-A-Part salvage yard and get OEM sensors. I hate the notion of this but if you can find one that appears undamaged bring it home, clean it up good (test it, resistance )if you know the specifications. This is what I did andy truck runs Great again with a Genuine GM cam position sensor (CMP).
