This was exactly what I needed. However, I am a girl who has never replaced a normal lock, much less a mortise lock. The instructions consisted of a very short series of pictures that covered 3 different installation types. I had to redo this about 3 times. Good thing I had drill bits suitable for metal.

I bought this mortise lock to replace the original mortise lock that came with a security door I bought from Home Depot. This replacement broke in the exact same place the original did. Spoke with a Marks USA rep. The lock was under a "lifetime" warranty, but I cannot figure out the definition of "lifetime." Lock is no longer manufactured, which is probably a good thing. There is not a replacement for the mortise lock according to the rep. Not impressed with the lock, with the company, and with the "lifetime" warranty.

I was told that I could not get a lock to fit my Medallion door without paying $300 or more to replace it, looked at the lock downstairs and saw that it was a Marks lock, looked it up online and there it was, only cost me $100, great deal, love it, works great, thanks, Warren family

Very good door lock set and price ! The model was a universal lock set , so keep your old lock set around until you've done any modifications to have it close like the old lock set. The instructions were a little hard to understand. Very good quality and look. I was very pleased!
