I’ve always struggled with how to truly study the Bible—not just read it, but that changed when I began using the NLT One Year Chronological Study Bible. What makes this Bible so impactful is the “Daily Discovery” section that follows each day’s reading. Instead of closing the book and moving on, I’m presented with questions that help me reflect and dig deeper into what I’ve just read. It turned passive reading into intentional study. This Bible also sharpened my study habits. I’ve started looking up words and concepts I thought I already understood— like the meaning and significance behind various sacrifices and festival days. Exploring those details has opened up layers of understanding I had previously missed. I truly love this Bible and am so grateful that God’s Holy Spirit led me to it. If you’ve only ever read the Bible in its traditional canonical arrangement (grouped by genre—Law, History, Poetry, Prophets, etc.), I strongly encourage you not to skip the introductory sections of this edition and take time to read the following, i.e. A Note to Readers, User's Guide, The 14-Era Story Arc of the Bible, The Chronological Bible Teaching 14-Era Framework, Features Explanation, How to Use This Bible Individually and Communally, and finally, Asking Discovery Questions. These sections are not just a filler—they’re foundational and explain the formatting behind the layout. Reading them first gave me a fresh set of eyes for Scripture. This has helped me understand scripture more deeply. If you’re looking for a way to move from simply reading the Bible to truly studying it, this may be exactly what you need.

My best purchase this year. Firstly this is a strong Bible meaning that it will last me years, hopefully a lifetime. I like that chapters are divided for each day making it easy to complete the bible in a year. Because of the insights at the beginning and the thoughtful questions at the end of each read, I look forward to reading it every day. I bought two, kept one and gifted a friend one. This has really helped my spiritual life and my goals to get closer to God. I understand the word better and remember what I read. I meditate on it and use this Bible as guide. It is also interesting to read the bible from a timely historical context, ie the chronological arrangement of the books. It becomes like one over-aching story about God.

The chronological order makes the stories flow naturally, and the NLT translation is very clear. Great for daily reading and deeper understanding. Highly recommend!

Great chronological Bible. It has really neat intros to the different era’s of the Bible and explains well what is going on.
