If you are an absolute beginner, I wouldn't start with this book, but if you are past the novice stage in your study of the Japanese language, this book is fantastic in helping you to solidify your knowledge of elementary/intermediate Japanese grammar and vocabulary

I am so excited to have these books. At first, I ordered the "100 sentences" book, but realized, I still had some learning to do. I can't believe this book really has 840 words in it. It has has online resources to help you with your studies. In the beginning of the book, it also has the hiragana, katakana, etc characters for reference. Each page has ways to practice and various examples on what the words mean :) And, there's even tons of flash cards to cut out at the end of the book. This is perfect for someone who wants a physical way of learning, as opposed to using apps all the time. I recommend starting with this one, then the kanji book, and then the sentence book. It's got just about everything you could ask for, for a great price.

I started my Japanese journey back when I was about 10-12 years old, but I never got past hiragana and katakana. I only knew a limited amount of phrases. But now I’m studying Japanese to attend Japanese language school in Japan and maybe attend a university or vocational school. This book is honestly helping me understand how to write and read hiragana again, along with some new vocabulary for me to study for the JLPT/JPT.

Really like it and great for learning and practicing Japanese writing

I speak Chinese fluently and now am working on learning Japanese. As a teacher and student of foreign languaegs I can honestly say this is a great introduction to Japanese writing and vocab. My only criticism is the lack of sample sentences. If the author writes a lead magnet of sample sentences for the book or revises the book to add a sample sentence for each term I would immediately give it 5 stars. I didn't give it 3 stars because even "just" the kana kanji and words are a great contribution, but it can and should go the next step, whether as free bonus content, lead magnet, or a revised version.

This book feels like it was written with love and a true desire to help people learn Japanese. Great stuff!

The media could not be loaded. This books has been extremely helpful in learning the japanese language! There are many charts and flashcards that help you learn the characters and words of Hiragana and Katakana! This is definitely worth purchasing if you are new to the language!
