Q: why would it gets too hot to hold?

As a small size, ultra-bright flashlight, T1 Pro will produce much heat while working especially at high and turbo modes while internal temperature reaches 80℃( 176℉). We do not recommend keeping the light in turbo mode for more than 10 minutes.

Q: It is bright enough for daily use?

It has five lighting modes: Turbo/Infinity High/Infinity Low/Firefly/Strobe, from 1920 lumens to 0.44 lumens. You can carry it when you walk the dog outside in the dark or reading.
