NOT EVEN CLOSE!!
Just recieved the Precision Plus Tongs M35244 by Mercer Culinary for $20+ today and unfortunately they are a real disappointment in regards to craftsmanship and quality control. As you can see in the photos, the tong tips are not even the same size; the one on the right being thicker and slightly longer. Running a finger along the inside flat length of the tongs one can feel pitting and bumps left behind by the forging process. Welding bumps where the tong blade suddenly goes from thin to much fatter have not been smoothed out.But most the glaring and ineffective point is that the tips do not close tightly together, leaving a gap (as seen in 2 photos). I own other Mercer tools and have had no issue with them. Because of the poor craftsmanship these tongs should have never passed quality control. Yes, they'll be going back.UPDATE: Mercer corrected the problem while tweezers were en route back to them with outstanding customer service and a product with the build quality I'm accustomed to from them. Thank you.

TOP NOTCH QUALITY
I purchased the Mercer Culinary Straight Precision Plus Chef Plating Tong, 11-3/4 Inch, Stainless.Yes, that’s the "Precision Plus" version.I’ve owned a few plating tweezers/tongs but this one from Mercer is top notch quality. It’s got a good weight with cross grips for easy and controlled handling. The inside tips are serrated so your food won’t fall off. The steel is stiff yet bendable enough to allow for some movement. It comes with a removable rubber notch / “ring” at the base for hanging. I don’t hang my tweezers. I just lay them flat inside my drawer or stick it in my knife block. But I’ll keep the rubber rings attached because they look cool. The Mercer tweezers makes a nice “show-off” tool when I entertain. This basically replaces my cooking chopsticks. I mainly use tweezers for noodles, zoodles (zucchini noodles), picking up/turning over small pieces of meat, chicken wings or veggies. If you need more precision then get the shorter/smaller version. But since I’m a home cook and don’t need fine plating. The 11-3/4 version works fine for me.For a few more dollars, get the "Precision Plus" version. You won’t be disappointed with these Mercer tweezers. (I’ll post photos with my review).

Good quality, does what is designed for.
Personally for me it's very important comments below the product. They help me decided and get honest reviews from users. And I know that not all 5 star reviews are honest... So it's very important for me to give honest feedback about the product. I work in the kitchen as seasonal J1 student at the Chatham Bars Inn. And I use this tong for mussels, decorate seafood and other decorative works which requires delicate approach. So far this product done very good job and I would recommend it to anybody who works in the kitchen. But I didn't give it 5 starts because of it's price. I think it's a little overpriced. But this is my personal opinion and this factor might be least for other customers.

Fukn Tight
These are great for plating. Presumably you want to buy these for the kitchen, not for the garden or your face. I’ve used multiple brands: jb prince, global, and some cheap ones from the Asian market. These are, by far, my favorite. The color is cool, they’re sturdy, stamped metal instead of the soldered together ones you usually see, and they open wide enough that you can use them to turn small ingredients. A little too flimsy for anything over a couple oz. but perfect for small garnishes. Worth the few extra dollars to buy these.

Kids in the hall
Now I can squish people from a distance in style. Also I've dropped these several times and had them knocked around, and they're still very capable of squishing people mercilessly. Also picking up brunois mango from an emulsion it has spilled into while plating an odd tartare.

Way too stiff
The action on the forceps is much too stiff. Mercer knows from customer feedback that these forceps are bad, and they’re still selling them. The market prefers the product a different way, there’s no apparent reason the spring needs to be so tense, Mercer will never get my business again.

pay more for a higher quality product
Mistake. I lost my JbPrince and since I only had a few more days as a stage for a restaurant I bought these. They are cheaper and the discount for jbprince was no longer available on amazon. These are much lower quality. It is too firm and so your hand gets tired before your plate is done. The tip is not fine, flowers would slip through. I ended up giving up and just borrowed. I would pay more for JbPrince or a better brand.
