I know now what my son went through
I am fortunate that my son made it through suicide ideation and is alive. On his suicide day he was on the phone with me for two hours asking if life got better, did the emotional pain ever end, he felt worthless and felt defective as a person, and more.Reading this book I felt as if I was reading the inner soul of my son and his pain. It has given me great understanding of his real pain, that it didn’t happen in a short period of time but instead it slowly grew over time into unbearable. This book shows the soul of suicide ideation. I now understand. Understanding is the first step towards helping anyone who is dealing with suicide ideation. If I could afford 100 of these books I would buy them and share them with eveyone I know.

Finally an Answer!
Suicide Why? Help Me Understand by Bobbie RenfroReviewed by Ginger Carpenter, RN July 8, 2022I became interested in this book because I wanted to know the answer to this taboo question – Suicide WHY? And I wondered how could a young woman that went to school with my children know the answer to such a deep and controversial subject? We live in a small community and have only about 100 students graduating from high school each year. Yet it seems like we also have multiple suicides by community members each year. Most of them known by our community and impacting all of us. And numerous of us asking – WHY? Many asking aloud “how could they be so selfish?”, “was s/he taking the easy way out?” or “were drugs or alcohol the cause?”Bobbie expertly helps us to understand the pain and suffering the suicidal person is experiencing and that it exceeds all of the above questions. She shares her personal experience with suicide. She has also done her research and explains mental illness and where to look for help if you have suicidal thoughts. I hope this book brings understanding and enlightens many lives.

The author is transparent in her personal experience with surviving a suicide attempt.
I literally read this entire book in one night. A church member recently committed suicide and this was very heavy on my heart. To be able to step inside the mind of someone in this situation and really get a feel for all aspects of the thought process that leads to one deciding on suicide as the only answer. We need more opportunities to discuss this topic and I admire the authors vulnerability on this matter.
