Pocket / Travel Crown & Anchor Dice Game

I bought this set purely for the dice, with the intention of making a suitable 'board / play mat' out of cloth. Much to my surprise, this set contains a cloth playing mat (not shown in the illustration above), a solid (not plastic) tin, and all the essential dice. This becomes a complete Crown & Anchor set, surprisingly faithful to historical examples from various collections. The addition of some counters is also included, which is an excellent consideration but strictly unnecessary since this is a game of chance to be played with coins for financial advantage. A game with a fascinating history, well presented and a perfect addition to any collection, ideal for travel.

Didn't come with any dice so can't play...

Great set in a small tin. Not the same betting card as shown, the one in my tin is a much more traditional cloth one so can be used for more players easily hidden from the law if they approach. Oh, it's not the 19th Century any longer. Fun easy game.

Very good but very small but it is a travel item.
